It seems two months delay will be most probable and feasible.

from Bloomberg:Rogers Tells Investors Not to `Give Up' on China (Update3)

By Zhao Yidi

June 28 (Bloomberg) -- Jim Rogers, who in April 2006 correctly predicted oil would reach $100 a barrel and gold $1,000 an ounce, told investors not to ``give up'' on Chinese shares after the country's stock index fell almost 50 percent this year.

``Start buying when others say `never again','' Rogers, 65, said today at an investor conference in Nanjing. There is ``much money to be made'' from investments in Chinese stocks, he said.

China's CSI 300 Index has slumped 52 percent from its Oct. 16 peak on concern government measures to curb consumer prices will hurt earnings growth. Rogers, who first started buying Chinese stocks in 1999, said he hasn't sold any of his holdings.

``It's still a growth story in China,'' said Andrew Sullivan, a sales trader at Mainfirst Securities Hong Kong Ltd. ``It still has a good manufacturing industry.''

China's economy expanded 10.6 percent in the first quarter even as export growth cooled and industrial companies' profit growth slowed as oil and gas costs surged. Chinese stocks slumped yesterday on speculation the government will increase interest rates to help tame inflation.

Rogers told Chinese investors that the current correction is ``the way the market works,'' and they shouldn't be a ``market timer'' trying to figure out when is the bottom. ``You should get in at a time like now,'' Rogers said. ``I'm starting to think about buying again.'' He said he'd be ``investing in China for the rest of the century.''

About 200 people -- a full house -- paid as much as 50,000 yuan ($7,300) to hear Rogers speak at the two-hour event. The cheapest ticket was 3,800 yuan. Some approached him for his autograph and photos after the speech.

Some one tell me, don't forget company share daily buy back program of YZJ still on process, recently the company put on a halt because of a period of no action is necessary by Sgx regulation. Is that true? Any suggestion?

I would suggest and it will be so wonderful that having discussion or reminding of the PRE-event is more valuable, reliable and appreciable. Don't you think so?

elfinchilde      ( Date: 11-Aug-2008 12:18) Posted:

small lesson for the day:

how to calculate if it's a cut, or worth risking a DCA, assuming you didn't stop loss at an early stage. (ie, remedial action).

Coscocorp being the example, since it recently nosedived.

If you look at the three year, weekly charts for cosco: derive the supports as per i've shown on the STE thread before.

1) 215 is the next support, below of which is 165. Meanwhile, for cosco to have an actual attempt at survival, it has to break 2.7, preferably 2.8. So that it can regain to 3++ glory.

2) Using today's market depth data, determine the pivots as well.

3) Using rough calculations of the lots involved in the Q:

To dive the counter to 215--ie, the point beyond which we can consider it to be beyond redemption--will require just about $2.5mil (2350 as the pivot pt), while to raise the counter so that it has potential of 'rebirth', would require at least $12mil (pivot = 2500).

-----------

hence by technicals, cosco warrants a cut rather than a DCA.

personally, by instinct and precedence, i think they may have played this counter dead.

Is the Gold game over? Long term down trend or still short term uptrend? I personally select the first one.

elfinchilde      ( Date: 08-Aug-2008 16:30) Posted:

just fyi:

1st buy for gold was actually about 85.5-86.5, because that's the pivot. ie, gold may rebound up from there, or it may dip further.

2nd buy should preferably be for sub 84. wait for the bottoming turn up to trigger.

impt: pls note your exchange rate at pt of buy and sell. the USD is strengthening, so even if gold appears to dip, you may be on profit.

Huh, buying today again at Sgd. 1.70  for money cost averaging still having big big paper loss. Next target will be Sgd. 1.50, I hope it won't reach this price. Any suggestion? Should I cut loss first and do recovering later?
