A good trader is one who always bets 'kachang-puteh'...

A trader who " mau" , or averages up, or averages down

is never a good trader... for that is not strategic play in the first place.

It would be surprising if such a trader makes money (nett gain)...

But Gaecia is a good trader now... keep it up!... Smiley

All traders are in the same league...

Chances are, as a trader's skill  becomes better,

while making kachang, he/she will lose even more money.

This may seem strange but it's true. Smiley

hmm.. because as they become 'skilled'...they tend to move in and out more often.. rather than 'mauing' a good one and average it up as it goes?

I'm also in training myself  up but still lose money on  cfd a/c thou not alot. I think its a  psychological issue  for me to see  statistics ie. margin, cash resources ticking  live at the top of platform screen which affects me alot. Whenever i see deficit on  trade order,  i want to cutloss. Its a  sure way to lose milkshakes like that zzzz. Whenever i  attempt shorts to  practice textbook theory in market's live firing range, its  normally half of what i will go long on to reduce risk exposure.

As for  some of us  here (ie. crystal, ic and jfierce)  who  wants to venture into  US market to strike it big, please ask yourself whether  you've  got the fortitude to win  consistently on sgx first. Nyse is the world's largest casino stock market, so  you've better be a good gamer because the house is  one fast  ticker.

You've  got to  lookout for pre market gaps, opening, lunchtime chop, closing and after  market hours plus news reading  sometimes thru the night. Can hardly have dinner with a peace of mind  or go  on dates at night if  into active trading.  First foray  into foreign waters  do not  go  trade  on  cfd or options, until  one plans to topup like mad. If you don't have spare money to lose, then  is it worth the risk.  I'm saying all these with the exception of  BT aura  because he's in  a completely  different league.

Money can be made in a bear market too.

I see it more of an outflow of smart money back to the western developed nations, rather than a true bear market due to poor fundamentals.

A slight rebound may still be possible in the coming days. But you will probably see me posting more in the night than in the day from next week onwards Smiley

hey i just got back & whoaa see this downward spiral.

aura, u sure this isn't the onset of bear bear market? If 3120 broken, then really is  dye dye.  Anyway tmr can't be the same right,  should outperform. Okay...i try calculate, going by today's drop sgx can afford to rally for 8-10points that  can last us about 5-6 working days till 18 Feb budget day? Not bad huh.
