out at .695 for GAR. realised loss of 300+ should have taken the chance to bail when i broke even at .75, but alas, greed set in. this morning wanted to sell at .705, but think nvm la just as long as .7 support holds, i also stick. but it broke, and so i sold. ok

bye bye guys.

His costs is just USD1,000 if he bought 10 lots. Every lot is 100 shares in States.

LoL

Imagine he bought just 10 lots at US $1.

That would cost him US $10,000   (2 years ago)

Profits would be : 10 lots x $39 = $390,000   (after deducting cost)

If we are to follow your friend,   we could do the easy thing and just buy GenSp now at near $2 and wait for 2 to 3 years, without trading it. Just patiently wait for 2 to 3 years.

But unlikely GenSp will ever reach $20 or $40 like LVS.   Probably more like $4 to $5.

LVS, just last Friday, a friend told me he bought LVS at US$1+ 2 years back and just sold it a few weeks ago at US$40+. 'Mouth Agape'

You can start with the Dow, or Nasdaq or S& P components.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dow_Jones_Industrial_Average

Or you can choose from thousands of other counters, like Las Vegas Sands (LVS), etc..

When a market is flushed with liquidity, it will lift the majority of counters with reasonable earnings.

When a market lacks investor interest, even good earnings will not see the price going up reasonably.

Come back to Asia markets again when inflation issues are over and China is done with raising interest rates.

Reports indicate another 2 or 3 interest rate hikes from China this year. And the next hike could be as soon as March 2011.

Remember what I said about the dead cat bounce for STI yesterday. Look at the volumes these days.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_cat_bounce

Investor money is out of this market. Go where the money trail leads you, and the trail does not end in Asia.

I have funded a US trading account and will be out of STI by tomorrow. But I will only enter after the US market correction.

All the best guys   Smiley

I strongly recommend you guys to divorce yourselves from the Sg market like our BT and go to the US markets not without a reason.   You see the sg market, it is a poor man's market though rich in ninja skills. An average Joe will not make money from sgx but constantly losing because of the structure (character) the market is made of. The US market is large and dynamic and you can make a good bundle if you do a little bit of following some of the analysts on the websites, hundreds of them. The main key to make money is not to be greedy.   You can make a few hundred dollars everyday if you are not greedy, but here in SGX you will lose money   Cheers.
