Gone, unless can rebound back intraday to claw back above 3040 later but even so we're doing like 80% down days and 20% weak up days in Feb. If Hang Seng opens badly, then how will sti react?
I'm not buying anything because i tend to trade short term like from few days to 2 weeks, why fight against the trend in the face of it?

okay. good..... i should have close my long position with ocbc too.... but now too late....
will keep it for christmas.

No i am too late in shorting now, only managed to close all my long positions yesterday afternoon with ME tensions spreading. I wish to sideline today. Do not short when STI is at support line in case it rebounds, one can also lose alot of money in shorting.
Because of the market climate right now, i'm just waiting for good earnings results on some companies for a good entry to short. Even when companies have a good showing for investors the rally will be unsustainable and very short lived for long positions to exit, just look at NOL and stxosv in the face of negative broad market.

Technical action is relevant and valid under every and all circumstances.
In other words, a chart is a valuable guide
in all situations...

You are right what you said about
technical analysis.
It is the '
analysis' part that's troublesome, not the "
technical" part.
This is because a chart by itself is neutral, it does not have any predictive indications.
It is people who make erroneous and often wild assumptions about the chart
and 'indicators' that causes plenty of losses...

This morning's gap down is deeper than sti's last red candle on a Fri (2 weeks ago) it went all the way down to 3052 and recovered shortly to 3070+ within the afternoon. Today STI is making a lower low it more than fills this gap. Which means Sti's dead cat bounce was last Fri morning on budget day sti 3108 and down it goes since last Fri pm, yesterday until now.
The charts from past week has been increasingly difficult to interpret/ read, pls don't put too much reliance on technical analysis because it lags market.
