Like I said before, all the ancient sacred texts of the world contain good insights.

and in all the religious traditions are a wealth of learning within their respective sacred writings.

I am happy among religious people, be they Buddhist chanting monks, Singing Gregorian monks,

Dominican nuns,  Islamic Sufi mystics, etc. All are expressing the divine nature of man... Smiley

That is correct...Buddhism is not a religion but a system of principles for human living.

There's no worship of any God/gods. Thus, no belief is required, but only  a sense of logic... Smiley

Enlightenment of Buddhism (Translated from Citigold post)

We have our own views and opinions to everything that happens and that gradually become our unique character.
As a result of differences in individual experience, education, character, values and judgment, misunderstanding and friction follows.
This constitues to the many vicissitudes (sad, happy, separaton and union) of life in the world.
When we receive good news, we will be very happy, but when we receive bad news, we will be very sad.
Our seven emotions and six sensory pleasures rotates with the things that happens around us and often cannot be controlled.
Emotions (joyful, anger, sorrow, and happiness) changes instantly and determine our actions and fate.
We lust for things that we do not have.
We treasure them for a short while upon having them, ignore them when we are tired of it and take it for granted.
Till we loses it and we start to regret again.
This stubbornness created a lot of pain and sorrow.
Certainly, where there is joy, there will be sorrow, where there is life, there will be death.
Having to endlessly revolve around the wheel of life, experiencing once and again the the misery and bitter experience, how then can we find the attitude and spirit to permanently rely on?
Actually, the answer is in the non-religious and non-philosophy Buddhist studies.

How does this apply to punting shares?

You decide what you want to bet.
Do not be influence by others and that is no business of others.
For that will affect only your profit and losses.
You are happy when you win and sad when you lose.
Often, emotions cannot be controlled while looking a price movement.
                  Emotions determine your bet.
                      You lust for profit.
When you are in profit, you don't lock it.
When you lose your profit, you regret it.
Your stubbornness created great pain in betting.
Where there is win, there is lost.
In a situation where you sometimes win, sometimes lose, what do you rely on?
                                              The answer ... its YOU!

Many thanks to both Sifu's for such an enlightening translation and interpretation of such a beautiful verse.

I have always loved Buddhist tradition, which contains such palatable and all-encompassing principles.

This is why when I enjoyed " Journey To The West" tremendously.

And horses always remind me of Tripitaka's 'carriage' (car). Smiley
