So what the Fed will do with the fund rate will depend on tonight's and friday's economic number.

Hi synnexo,

I hope that the worst is over for now. Like what idesa168 says, people are waiting for what the Fed does. If they don't do what people hope they will, then the market may dip some more.

Can one infer from that that the current bear market will continue for the rest of 2007 and recover only in 2008/2009?

There's no strong reason why this is not likely...

2008- 2009.

Volumes are still really low. But this is to be expected because US markets were closed last night plus this is the school holiday season in Singapore.

Hope this Christmas goes well for all in DOW country and STI land

Sure hope the Benanke guy can pull this one off so that the mood is not down

The Americans can turn N Korea away from nukes - surely this crisis is less of a challenge

Heard these people are very enterprising and some extra time is on his side

Newmoon has just revealed the ultimate secret to stock market success...

ie. get out of losing trades and ride the profitable ones till there's little juice left.

And in riding the profits up and down, one must not hesitate to dump when prices when the profits reached a predetermined level...

Continued holding and then praying are futile actions if one's market actions are wrong. Smiley

Prayer and hope does not work in the stock market.

Cutting losses early ( although it hurts) and letting profits run works .

You have to be on the wrong side of the trade about 40%  of the time and hopefully 60% right if you trade long enough.

Data coming from US are very important to the world, generally, everyone is very concern now.

But unlikely to have much good news, unless Fed rates cut. BEST !!! Smiley

As for the Chinese market, unlikely will crash as President Hu already mentioned he will not let such thing to happen before the Olympic games. But then, correction is sure overdue.

Maybe US already cham siong with China already, will correction after US finish its shit...in October? Haha...Smiley
