A crisis ridden system.

It wasn't that long ago that capitalist pundits proclaimed the end of sharp economic crises.

The reality however is that capitalism is a crisis ridden system.

At the end of the 90's the fed moved to prevent the collapse of the dot com bubble by lowering interest rates which combined with an abundant money supply created the rising home values that triggered the housing bubble.

Most capitalist commentators insist that the fundamentals are sound but this is not true.

US consumers have been holding up the world economy by buying the world's goods for the last 15 years.

They have only been able to because of unprecedented level of of government and personal debt .

Now the music is about to stop or has already stopped.

The end of a bubble can only be predicted on hindsight says Greenspan who created the bubble in the first place.

You can draw your own conclusion as to whether this charade is possible by producing another bubble.

Cutting US interest rate is so easi for FED to prevent slowing down US economie, FED will use all available tools and even magical hands to prevent it from nudging to recession (it is for Sure). Meanwhile trade with care, it is a volatile week.

I only know those who sell - like my friend lost

Those who hold - the price went up

Even if tomolo price go down some amt, they still make some when they hold, just e.g China XLX stock

This one cannot bluff - see the price (before/after)

I guess we're in for a US recession by next year..... hopefully not globally, clear tell tail sign can be seen when Fed take a deep interest rate cut comes 18 Sep.

Which counter is recession proof that we can buy?

There is lot of speculation on potential RECESSION heading into month of October. As in 1987 October, Dow crashes 23%.

At the moment, cash is king...just ensure you have enough bullets to fight through this roller coaster ride.
Be discipline & be patient.

There are lots of opportunities out there if you have got the cash to buy.

I am not sure if the turmoil is over.
Nothing is a certainty these days.
Weak jobs data is just the beginning with recession fears brewing by the days. Let's look at the next quarter to have a clearer picture. Need those economic data to come in to analyze first before taking the next course of action.

In the coming months, expect more volatility. More downward pressure on the market from
all fronts, monetary policies, monetary pressures from US/YEN, Mortgages, Interest Rates,
Recession risk & Consumer Confidence.
However, this provides opportunity for making money be it in a rising and falling market.

Just an observation for the last few weeks of trading, asian markets have fallen less after a fall in the US market. Everyone has become more resilient to the bad news.

Question is: What happens when the investment and hedge funds start to redeem funds and channeled back to US? Let's watch out for the foreign funds exiting the Asian markets....

First the turmoil is over

Second for the last week -  the reposition of debts is also over for the week

Third the jobs will weaken for the months ahead - but it also shows the light at the end

You - who hold shares is almost there. You who sold -lost out as shares increased in price

Tomorrow may drop but some amt only - of course shortist will try their best

Like I say, their chances are slimmer by the months
