surprised to see STI dropping... looks like everyone eager to take profits liao
Dear cashiertan,
Thank you for the insight. But i still find it hard to comprehend.
Doji and Trend
The relevance of a doji depends on the preceding trend or preceding candlesticks. After an advance, or long white candlestick, a doji signals that the buying pressure is starting to weaken. After a decline, or long black candlestick, a doji signals that selling pressure is starting to diminish. Doji indicate that the forces of supply and demand are becoming more evenly matched and a change in trend may be near. Doji alone are not enough to mark a reversal and further confirmation may be warranted.
Dear Cashiretan,
May i know whats a doji? Pls enlighten. Thank you.
i keep my finger crossed, yesterday nasdaq formed a doji thou it gap up. it shows there is some selling pressure in the US after lunch.
STI should continue uptrend today.
Hi Mani,
Just need to mention one stock to you and I am sure you will understand why it is good to have a long term view sometimes. I think you know which one.
Agree with Pension. Price movements are driven by sentiment.
Hi Mani - you keep calling me Da Jie Jie.... how do you know I'm not a Xiao Mei Mei??

FA and TA will not work during crissis time.
Hi Mani,
Just my point of view though it could differ from yours. Whether you use TA or FA, be a bit flexible. Sometimes we learn something and over time we can always improvise our strategy with some changes.
It is not just about being right in TA or FA. It is about how to maximise your profit.
From my analysis on TA, your buy signal would mean you have lost a few cents before you buy so it is quite unlikely you can get the best price. When STI was near 3100, I am sure there was no buy signal for any stocks. However there is nothing wrong with waiting for your buy signal. Sometimes it is not about getting the best price. For instance when there is a buy signal from your TA, some people think "miss the boat" as they never get the best price and in the end they never buy.
I shall add more flexiblility in my strategy by learning TA. Most likely I shall use it to know when to sell but not when to buy.
Good luck in whatever way you choose!
Livermore... :)
I am sure Dajiejie (Singaporegal) knows when to buy (maybe she has already bought at good prices)...
Don't forget she has been using her favourite system to trade all this while.
(Her system is based on Larry Williams's book...
"Long-Term Secrets To Short-Term Trading")
Pikachu,
Agree with your observation. Profit taking setting in is a possibility.
Strong rally today but unfortunately the volumes are really low
we have been proven RIGHT again and again by the market with precision up to days....and MARKET is the BEST JUDGE as it is OBJECTIVE....good luck :)

Surprisingly, the market choose to move up in the next three months (August, September and till 8th/15th October to be confirmed the exact date in october)....while there will be some consolidation on the way, it will be "higher up" rather than "lower low" at least till 8th/15th October ...i would advise to buy in the rebound for the next two months...good luck and it is good to know that certainty is back to the market |

fairygal, i do not mean the bull will stop after 21st July but "uncertainties" (do not know whether market will go up or down) exist after 21st July...and we do not like uncertainties...in the few periods of uncertainty we called, there are intra-day drop of at least 50-100 points, and there are no BIG move...once the uncertainty period is gone, we will know whether there will be a BIG move or not (whether up or down)...we need to observe more after 21st July to call for the market direction...while at the mean time from now till 21st July, we are BULLS calling...good luck trading :) |
Also the crash in March/April etc, the BULL from the crash in March/April till July 21st etc......
