There's enough signs that times are really bad (ie. absence and of bullish mass sentiment)...
Many stocks are falling slowly... very slowly...   it's so insidious!
This is most evident in the penny stocks...
Many blue chips have already followed suit...

A bear can be a rather nasty animal... Smiley

there maybe a rally, big or mini not sure, before this big bear.

also, the big bear could be delayed by either china or jap policies. now finally, the world is depend on asian and not west to decide the bear or bull.

note i say delayed and not avoided. we can avoid bear nor recession, it is part of human / market life cycle. like birth and death.

foe human, we are in the booming / golden age. we are entering the last stage of the golden years or have step into the 1st stage of darkness years. human populations has boomed too much and it is like a cancer to mother earth. it seem the mother may need to go for  surgery to remove the cancer. i think something like the movie" the day after tomolo" will happen and even worst.

haha . laughing but not joking.. coz the earth has almost balanced itself but human is making it unbalance, as just in " the day after tomolo" once the max tolerance of the unbalance is breached, mother earth will do a "correction" to tip it back to balance again.. but it wont be just a 10-30% correction. haha

In some of my earlier posts, I mentioned about looking at China stocks, infrastructure, stocks exposed to consumer goods and commodities. I got the below article from internet.

Four Sectors Receiving Unprecedented Growth!

It?s no surprise consumerism is spreading like wildfire throughout Asia (and other parts of the world) as the citizens of these nations yearn to enjoy the lifestyles previous reserved only for those in the West. These areas are shifting from export to domestic economies. That means areas like China are starting to produce products internally for domestic consumption.

What?s more, the growing middle class, greater Internet access and deregulation is adding fuel to the consumer fire!

On top of that, the pent up demand for infrastructure products and services in Asia, Latin America and parts of Eastern Europe is nothing new but is taking off as governments the world over are modernizing infrastructure to remain competitive in the global marketplace.

But almost no one predicted the gathering storm that is about to hit ? and the unprecedented growth and profit that will be generated!

Rising Star Stocks has recommended several companies that are involved in the following sectors:

  1. Information Technology infrastructure (Asia and Latin America)

  2. Transportation infrastructure (again ? all eyes on Asia)

  3. Environmental solutions (A worldwide concern with mind-boggling profit opportunities!)

  4. Energy (no surprise here ? but Rising Star Stocks is recommending two companies expected to produce triple digit gains)

The lack of IT and transportation infrastructure in Asia and Latin America is a well known fact.

What is NOT a well known fact is that there are companies already positioned to make windfall profits in this sector by providing products and services to build a ?modern? infrastructure!

For example, Rising Star Stocks recommended a China-based company that manufactures ?bimetallic? wire. This wire, among other things, is a cost effective alternative to pure copper wires.

We all know that wiring is a crucial aspect of ANY infrastructure. But the demand for this particular type of ?bimetallic? wire in the emerging markets is astronomical!

It's a fraction of the cost of traditional pure copper wire, yet delivers the same quality. For growing emerging markets, there's really no second thought on this one. This one is already up +63% since I first started covering it in April, and it's got a lot more play in it.

And get this...The transportation infrastructure in Asia and Latin America, (not to mention Eastern Europe, Russia and India) may be one of the last great wealth producing opportunities of this decade!

Rising Star Stocks provides exclusive research, analysis and insight to help you easily profit from the transportation infrastructure buildup in the emerging markets.

On top of that, the ?Green Opportunity? and related environmental solutions will make some investors very wealthy.

Rising Star Stocks provides specific research and recommendations in the environmental solutions area.

But more importantly, Rising Star Stocks identified several companies that capitalize on environmental solutions in the emerging markets! Nearly all of these countries are signatories to the Kyoto Protocols calling for cuts in greenhouse emissions, yet with burgeoning populations they cannot afford to let economic growth stall. They're turning to clean technologies to propel them forward.

Last but not least is the energy sector. This is a no-brainer.

The amount of crude oil, gasoline, natural gas, and coal that is required to provide enough energy for the emerging markets is staggering.

What?s more, as emerging markets grow, these countries need to have a reliable source of energy. If a country does not have a reliable source of energy they need to go somewhere to get it!

Rising Star Stocks has initiated strong buys for companies involved in providing reliable sources of energy to emerging markets! Don?t let this opportunity pass you by!

One of our energy recommendations, a China-based natural gas provider, has skyrocketed more than 250% this year alone!

Business Times 17 Nov 07 - Reading This Won't Make You Great

Mark Sellers, founder of a Chicago based hedge fund, argues that the best investors are born with  particular psychological traits that others can never learn.

"Intelligence and learning are obviously neccesary too, and are sources oof competitive advantage for an investor, but there are structural assests some  possess that cannot be copied or learnt by others. They have to do with psychology and psychology is hard wired into your brain. It's part of you. You can't do much to change it even if you read a lot of books on the subject".

He said there are 7 traits great investors share that are true sources of advantage because they cannot be learnt. You are either born with them or you aren't.

Sometimes it is not good for US market to go up too much in one day. Singaporeans are very "kiasi" traders and sometimes when US market goes up too much, we don't even gain at all as traders expect the next trading session on US side to end on negative. So I prefer bit by bit.

Even if one goes for a holiday, you need not sell off all your stocks. You can access internet in another country. If not, just sms your broker back home, and he will sms you back the price of any stock. If you wish to buy or sell, just sms.

Don't panic. Keep cool

Yeah, we all hope so.

But when the market turns bull, don't be too quick to sell and cut loses! Similarly in a bearish market, we don't know where's the pit. In the bullish market, we don't know where's the roof! Let's just wait for the big wave and enjoy the ride.

I like bulls. I think I'll go grab a red bull now. =)

On an optimistic point of viw, the straits time money section talk about US needing 2 years to recover fully from the sub prime issue. If the current singapore market is indeed low due to the sub prime issue, then singapore market will follow a downturn for 2 years! No, I believe it just market sentiments and not real loses that shook the recent singapore market.

I don't believe that singapore will turn bearish for too long. With IR and F1 around the corner, pumping millions and billions of dollars into the economy, there's no way for singapore to stay down. The way I see it, the current low of US market is a good oppurtunity for singapore to go to the next greater height. US can't be the king of markets leading others up or down forever. Singapore having such close ties with China will benefit from their rising market as well, especially when Olympics is coming too.

I for one, is optimistic about our market admist the bad US market.

Hi Littleboy,

Well I might be wrong. We shall see. Anyway I am focussed on my stocks, which I think will go up and not on the STI. At the end of the day we are buying a stock and not the STI although a sharp drop in STI affects most stocks.

Good luck!

But we need to be careful and remind ourselves that, although the stock market can be such a dainty  baobei (darling) at times, it can also, out of the blue without warning, show it's ugly side.

When the stock market show it's ugly side, all thoughts of 'baobei' will instantly disappear.

So have to be extremely careful and defensive when dealing with the stock market... Smiley
