Elfin... :)
Oooh... I was anticipating a much 'meatier' response from you than just that one liner... hehehe... Smiley
At an uninteresting time like this we really need members like you to provide the 'live wire' factor...

heya...juz my personal opinion: for some stocks, already some nibbles (eg, SCI). for others, not yet, still distributing/shorting/zzz-ing (see SGX). Singtel was beautiful today. Mostly zzzing away tho. managers all on hols. haha. Thin vols make for volatile days; just one BB alone is enough to shake the market.

Markets are a flipping fixed board. the US/global manipulation is so blatant its unbelievable. (note: just my personal opinion; i could just be seeing ghosts where none exist. haha.)

short answer: have taken the opp today to buy some call warrants first.

the stocks on my buy list are SCI and SGX. but strike px not yet. i'd play yanlord again if its signals clear up. easier counter than yzj. cosco not yet; wld like a sub-6. if they don't hit my strike px i won't buy tho. just the calls are enough alr...nd to stay light as possible.

lookit your charts, manikamaniko. busd. you're a way more experienced trader than i am. :)

caveat emptor for all the above.

The low volumes everyday really put me to sleep. I am glad I'm going for a holiday soon.

I hope the market wakes up when I return!

Elfin... :)

I suppose fund managers would have by now already completed ther window dressing for the current year.

When do you think they will start shopping again to top up next year's portfolio? Smiley

Personally I think it is not beneficial to frequently adjust the interest rate. The general commoner are not aware that they are being robbed indirectly when the Fed lower interest rate try to minimise the housing slump.

The credit crunch is a huge blow to the credibility of the Anglo Saxon model of transaction orientated model of financial capitalism.

Do  you remember the lecturing by US officials and the IMF to the Japanese and then to the asians during the asian financial crisis  about the importance of lettingasset prices find their true value and to let transparency enter markets as soon as possible.Interest rates were increased and liquidity was reduced and this led to hunger and riots. Was this a deliberate move to weaken the asian countries and seize strategic assets as implied by the book Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein?

What happened was however was not  an Anglo Saxon problem in a far away land.

Now we have:

1. Henry Paulson organizing a cartel of holders of toxic securitized assets in the "super SIV"

2.US treasury intervening in the rate setting process to shore up a collapsing housing bubble.

These actions are at odds with what the US has recommended to other countries in a similar plight.

NOT for a long time will people listen to US officials lecturing on free financial markets when they speak with a forked tongue.

It is difficult to walk the talk when you are in dire straits due to greed and ignorance of financial instruments you have created

If STI manage to climb above 3637.18 on coming days, then the rebound is considered as successful and get ready for rally.

Vice versa, prepare for new lower low.

That's right! Little red dot's miracle success from 3rd to1st world country doesn't happen by chance.

And i do not trust all those wealth managers whom charge high management &/or performance fee regardless of whether you're profitable. That's why I only trust myself when come to investment with my hard earn dollar.

Little red dot lends 10 billion dollars to a giant wealth management bank UBS which is bleeding.

How can a wealth manage bank manage other people's wealth when they themselves do not know what they are doing?

I have decided to stay out of this market for a while and do more on educating my stock market knowledge. No point playing small with hit and run tactics. Earnings also not enough to plug the hole in my tooth... :))

The chow ang moh is now addicted to rate cuts. Looks like they want a rate cut every month during the monthly Fed meeting. How to hoot big big like this? Can only play small with hit and run style... :))
