after breaking out from previous high..... it'll either go and form a higher high to signify a succesful breakout...... or go back down to signify a false breakout.......

| epl, i'm not shorting smarine if breakout from this high and then what? The last time i shorted was to bet on earnings before announcement, it went wrong. I think before CD it will hardly go down much. |

Trading based on feeling is the worst way to play stocks...
In other words, if that is the basis of one's play,
then one is guaranteed to lose a lot of money in time...

The power of dividends must never be underestimated.
Many ordinary investors will hold with their minds focused on the dividends...
But I don't pay the slightest attention to dividends when playing...

CIMB: Noble - MAINTAIN OUTPERFORM, TP S$2.70
4 March 2011
Ho Choon Seng CFA +(65) 6210 8604 – choonseng.ho@cimb.com
Noble closed at S$2.18 Share Placement at S$2.07 Mkt.Cap: S$13,140m/US$10,364m
Placement to raise S$625m
Maintain Outperform. Noble has announced a 306.5m new-share placement at S$2.07 each to raise S$625m. Our FY11-13 EPS estimates have been reduced by 4- 5% to factor in dilution. Nevertheless, we have a higher target price of S$2.70, now set at 15x CY12 P/E, a 20% premium to the peer average of 12.5x CY12 P/E, from S$2.60 (14x CY12 P/E, 10% premium) as we believe there is earnings upside from still-strong commodity prices (especially coal), while the new capital raised will likely lead to more acquisitions and faster expansion. Catalysts are still expected from announcements of significant earnings-accretive acquisitions, higher coal prices and strong results.
The news
Placement to raise S$625m. Noble has entered into a placement agreement with Goldman Sachs and HSBC to place out 306.5m new shares at S$2.07 a share. The placement price represents a 6.8% discount to S$2.22, its weighted average price for trades done on 3 Mar 11, and a 5% discount to its latest closing price of S$2.18. Net proceeds are expected to be S$625m. Management plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes.
Dilution from new shares.. The placement shares represent around 5.1% of existing shares issued and 4.8% of its enlarged share capital. CIC has taken 45m placement shares, to maintain its stake in Noble at 14.7%.
Valuation and recommendation
FY11-13 EPS estimates reduced by 4-5%. We believe that management has raised new capital to fund higher working-capital requirements from rising commodity prices and for future acquisitions. Our FY11-13 EPS estimates have been reduced by 4-5% to incorporate dilution from the new shares, slightly offset by higher interest income from higher cash levels.
Maintain Outperform target price raised to S$2.70 (from S$2.60). Despite our EPS adjustments, our target price has been lifted to S$2.70, now set at 15x CY12 P/E, a 20% premium to the peer average of 12.5x CY12 P/E, from S$2.60 (14x CY12 P/E, 10% premium) as we believe there is earnings upside from still-strong commodity prices (especially coal), while the new capital raised will likely lead to more acquisitions and faster expansion. With coal prices benefiting sharply from the Queensland floods only from late 4Q10, we expect Noble to book stronger coal profits from 1Q11. Catalysts are expected from announcements of significant earningsaccretive acquisitions, higher coal prices and strong results.
