The professors message appears to be simply this: -

The ordinary guy should not be in the stock market at all... Smiley

hey cashiertan, mind contacting me privately via email? have requested for your addy via admin; i have some qns on forex and all that; wld like to take it offline. thanks!

yeps sporeguy, will 'relocate'. lol.

in brief for some of the babies i'm watching: still distributing on yanlord, sgx and cosco. nd to be careful on cosco: 5.75 critical pt. large distribution for days. something going on. caveat emptor.

Hi Tiandi,

His book is worth a read. He is after all a successful investor and started way back in 1987 when he was hit by the stcok market crash. But he came back.

I am trying to see if his TA method works:)

elf,

come join me in saxobank. trade sti etf cfd. confirm px will move with the STI. more leverage and also easier to buy and sell. also to sell a warrent usually u need to sell at 1 bid below ur intended price. this 1 bid can be more than 1% if the warrents is those sub 50c warrents. i find myself short changed. lol

edit: in forex, u can long or short anytime. bull or bears only exist in the stock markets. forex is forever neutral, even if the stocks market is having recession now. forex will never be in recession. dun believe? try it or check it out urself.

aiyah, whatever postings or views. the best is still Singgal. she never have to worried of the markets coz she has a simple and effective trading system which keep her out of the bad markets. i have yet to read her feeling vexed or anything excpet that the market is low volume. lol

come join me in forex, where there is not such problem with bull or bear market conditions, volume or short problems.

in forex u can long or short anytime. bull or bears only exist in the stock markets. forex is forever neutral. even if the stocks market is recession now also the same for forex. dun believe? try it or check it out urself.

certainty is back to market and recovery will start from 26th November 2007 till 14/18 January 2008....buy on any dip for recovery as market will try higher high (rather than lower low from 15th Oct - 23rd November, and higher high for 23rd August - 15th October)....as always said, market will be the best judge for our call (see now around 3300 plus and in 14/18 January 2008 the index)....good luck :)

Agree with cashiertan, never try trading base entirely on forum postings.

Will try buying in a a few more good bargain counters next week after pocketing two this week.

Good luck to all

worried that DOW may be forming a head and shoulder. if that is the case, expect the nov low to be tested.

Anyway, will be stop trading warrents soon when my saxobank is up and coming tomolo or so. trading index cfd is better than warrents. just like elf said, her warrents didnt move at all. while etf cfd for sti would move as the sti move. also with levearge at 20x. that is awesome. (note of the high leverage risk) volatile days like today would set u to huge profit (or loses if no s/l) within the day. trade up or short, no worries of covering within the day. no worries of no buyers or sellers when u want to sell. thus have to sell at "gapped" prices

anyway , coming to forums to read for directions is a bad bad idea.

never never ever based your trading on forums. u trade according to ur plans. hell with all the reviews, reccomendations posted here.

Coz the real pros dun post in forums. lol. amatueurs or intermediates like me will post in forums. (no offence, just joking)

nevertheless, NEVER read forums for decision. it is one of the worst way to lose money.

i dun think so elf, MACD has cross and i think we may be having a retracement for a rally that is too strong. 11 days and it climb almost 9%. however this few days is critical, whether the correction has ended or just beginning is here in the few days of chart movement.

Livermore,

in Shareinvestment 317, Prof Chan said, most people should be out of the market except three types: 1. Gambler, 2.Those who trade for fun, these belong to a group that take a small portion of their wealth and just play share for fun, 3. Those who bought much much early when share prices were very low. He belongs to this group, Some of his holding is 'zero cost', which means price had risen so many folds that he sold some and get his capital out of the market, leaving all his profit sitting in the market thereby his pressure is very small because these are 'zero cost' to him. If we can be the situation like him it will be very very relax... just a matter of earn more or earn less because 100% capital was already recovered, how nice..

Hi Mani,

Professor Chan Yan Chong happens to be a very successful investor. You have probably heard about his talks in Singapore. His talks are in chinese though. It is a interesting book. He actually uses log scale to plot market trend. He writes on the monthly share investment book.

hey sporeguy, no worries; tmrw likely to down further. my estimate is a gap down on opening and a further drop of ~6-10c from opening px, based on previous patterns. be careful to watch the busd. market depth is very thin, so just one panicked throw can cause chaos. just fyi ah... i'm not vested.

cashiertan, this is likely the down we were talking abt earlier? lets see if 3400 will hold.

Just curious... :)

Was it published anywhere whether Professor Chan is an investor himself, and what are the results he attained with the "7 Pillars Method"? Smiley
