Using Saxotrader daily charts to analyse. Just found out Chartnexus discontinued the STI charts. Thks man SGX....

Almost every dang indicator screams STI oversold. I thought the daily MACD histogram looks a bit odd though. Almost everyday selling down more and more.

I cannot be too sure there will be a gap up tomorrow for STI; much hinges on DJIA tonight, then Nikkei, then HSI tomorrow morning. And I don't rule out the odds of BBs deliberately testing 2950 just to squeeze out the last few hardcore bulls. Today's surge in trade volume does look like we are pretty close to terminal volume though.

So my best guess is.... if DJIA and NIKKEI tanks tonight n tomorrow morning respectively, we'll see 2950, perhaps low vol, then surge up once HSI rebounds. Perhaps a hammer candlestick. If HSI really rebounds like 1000pts, then, nice white candlestick.

Don't take this opinion as gospel truth pls. Your trade, your risk.

2moro STI

Will not fly

To reach the sky

But should move a little high

Otherwise..........

Many SJI (SJ Investors)

Will sure CRY

And question WHY

Some may even shout DIE

With no more $ to BUY

And cannot sell at such low PRICE

Can only wait and SIGH

Until the bear bids GOODBYE

And the bull is REVIVE

ideas168,

Holy shit, I also staying somewhere in the West. We might be neighbours for all we know. Yes, I agreed with your earlier posting that a dip in property prices will make me more anxious. Easily make less by in term of tens of thousands.

Anyway, like cashiertan, I believe the shares are bottoming out soon. I begin to buy a bit here and there. Hope to see it go up tomorrow onwards.

Cheers

Hello Lazy Horse, we are on the opposite...lol. I am getting rid of my HDB and a condo unit in River Valley. Then I will buy a smaller condo unit to the west. The profit I will be making for HDB is 150% and the other is about 40% ( I hope). With the profitt, I am not gonna dap into shares, not now at least, maybe 1 year or 2 later. Cheers!

Soh, I think you may like to do an even more indepth in all insurance policies. Investment link as you mentioned is for investment. But all insurance are like that. It depends on the % of portion they use to invest. If not, where can they find $$ to give us the yearly bonus and once mature, where do they get that extra $$ to pay us. Be it endowmwne or Life insurance they will pool all $$ they received from policies premium then they invest. Have you hear of TERM INSURANCE? This is a real insurance policy purely 100% covering you in mishap. The premium is at least 30 times lower that what you pay for life or endowment. Assuming you pay $100 per month to cover maybe $50K in the event you die (touch wood) in LIFE INSURANCE, they will pay you $50K plus some bonus or interest that may vary. But if you opt to buy just TERM insurance, for the same amt of insured $50K, you pay only probably $10 per mth. And when you die, they pay $50K nett, without bonus. That's all I understand from insurance.

ideas168,

Looks like we are in the same boat. My main bulk of funds is in a property now. I will make a tidy sum if I sell now but I believe that it will appreciate further. After selling then buy a HDB and then got lots of cash to play shares. : ))

Soh, appreciate your view. But, UT isn't cheap from my experience. There's upfront fee, expend ratio, out performance bonus etc... unless you're talking about China or some 3rd world market, in a globalise world, no country is immune.

ideas168: I tink your insurance concept is more on Investment Linked Policy. My single premium endowment insurance is very simple play. You put a lump sum upfront. You get simple protection like 125% of your principal if you kena. If neber kena at year 5 onwards you are guaranteed your principal + guaranteed interest + maturity bonus. Insurance has many patterns. You may not be restricted to just ILP. Anyway insurance is more for protection so dun treat it like investment. The investment returns after a long period should be considered a bonus instead. That is why I treat insurance in the long term as investment which is wrong definition officially. But this is me I guess hahaa...

Happy coming CNY 2008! May all of us prosper in the new year :)
