A bear market is good news to those playing short...

Whereas a bull market is good for those playing long...

The market is a rather neutral beast...

Better to take refuge in the "Genie Tutorials"... which teaches exactly this... Smiley

sorry, sorry....dun mean to rub onto anyone's wound. Please accept my apology. I am getting very physical now, too much sugar I guess.

One thing I dun understand is that I have forgotten that USA will not be trading tonight. Why the FUTURES is still running.

Hee.........................

1 more reason to be a sell down day......

When PPL see the below posting, fear comes in and will sub-consiously have a selling mind set. But is ok... i was also setting cutting loss limit already.. think have to treat this round of selling down seriously...

DOW JONES FUTURE -245 as of now.

Today is a holiday for USA but things still going south with future..

so wat's next??? haizSmiley

tomorrow might most possibly see a fall again...these are my personal analysis:
  1. Indeed we had a very big fall today and it is also experienced throughout the region. Agreed with robbieczh and idesa168...it's 6.03% ...very sharp
  2. Secondly, tonight no direction from DJI...as we are blinded with no directions...fear overtakes and more selling will persist...
  3. Another reason to add on, this week no significant economic figures will be released from the US...only earnings of the big companies...which have not much of a "up-effect" on the overall economy...so even if they performed well...it just doesn't bring any good reason to bring the market up
  4. Fourth reason, we already broke the 3000 barrier for STI...tt is extremely bearish psychologically and technically...sinking deeper
  5. Last but not least, the shorting activities are increasing as I had noticed with majority of the counters...this only means further downtrend....

5% drop within a day is NO JOKE. This bear must be hungry and angry.

sohguanh: TA is not predicting the future trend. It's the possibilities of the future trend. There're plenty of times when market goes the opposite way of a TA prediction. That's why they say, the market is always right.

ha, why's this a discussion on pros/cons of TA again...haven't we been through this ad nauseum already..

sometimes, the obvious is what needs to be said, because people refuse to see it. As they say, common sense is the least common of all.

If it works for you, take it, if it doesn't, don't diss it. As robbie said, either you win, or you lose. Lots of methods to trade, lots of ways to make or break. No one way is right. The market takes its own and time is the final arbitrator.

In a market that's tanking, there's no need for onesupmanship. that's childish behaviour.

And yes, TA can predict future trends, with probability. it's about odds, afterall. But most of us will not post it out here, because there are some who are likely to take it as gospel truth, and blame others for their own decision.

It's a tough market. but sic vita.

apologies if the above offends anyone. am just speaking it as it is. feel free to disagree. but above all, never let theory get in the way of reality. Do what earns. hehe.

cheers! :)
