Ya good thing, every thing will be dropping like a falling knife, nobody buy stocks, nobody buy houses n flats, no body buy cars, nobody will spend and everybody will fear in a recession is coming, the mood is very depressive-recessionies in action. Then oil px will drop to <US45/- again.

Hi,

in the past, I could buy STI ETF if I wanted to buy indices.  Right now, if I am interested in buying indices again, what has replaced the STI ETF ?

Thanks,..dun seem to locate any of them now.

Cheers,

Soloman is so right. ^S^T^I  must go down big time... before we start to experience the errie feeling of recession even when stocks are dirt cheap but nobody buys.....

Been through 2 97s, 2 recessions..... seen it . But I have this fear that this one gonna be worse.....
My advice to all trading short term, try not to buy into weakness and sell into rally.
It is so unpredictable...

World is in  a serious crisis - grim DAVOS message

I have been to at least 2 recession and I hope I don;t go through another one

In a recession, the mood is very depressive

Stock prices are so low and people don;t even want to buy any

Now compare STI to recession is like heaven still

That;s why STI still has to go down big time when fears kick in - Jim Rogers

US Housing market down for the Nov and Dec. It is all in the news.
Lowering of interest rate may help many people from defaulting the mortgages.
Consumers spending down in Dec. Not favourable job data. US economy may shrink further.......
Banks may write off further from the sub prime mess
Inflation running high..... what else is there to shout about?

Let's pause for a moment and take stock of what we have. This is a crazy market where all fundamentals and technical analysis are thrown out of the windows.

Whether you trade fundamental or technical nothing seems to work. The last time such a scenario happened was way back in 1997 and 1987.

This time it seems worse because we have a mad horse running wild. It is the inflation......
going up yet the Fed and Central bankers are lowering interest rate.

The OPEC must lower the prices of Oil otherwise we run into the 1970s oil embargo that almost cause the world to come to a standstill.

Swings will be wild in the coming months on a downward spiral. So just take some time for a breather away and things will become clearer as we take a step backwards. Cheers
