Volumes can be spoken in favour fundamentals...

But isn't it better and profitable to tackle the market itself (read reality) rather than praising the fundamentals?... Smiley

There is going to great opportunities for those in water treatment. This is a great investment theme. This is a summary taken from Jim Rogers book - A Bull in China.

There could be serious water depletion in China. The prospects for India could be even worse. In Jim Rogers many travels through both countries, he came across numerous former cities of splendour turned to ghost towns for lack of water. Rainfall in the north of China is less than 8% of the world average. The mighty Yangtze may be biologically dead by 2012. Under Communism, water was viewed as a free resource of the people and prices were kept artificially low. Prices have risen steeply in recent years - 10 times from 1999 to 2004 - but that hasn't stemmed use.

Water specialists have warned that the growing trend toward biofuels like gasohol, gaining fashion in Brazil and India, may actually lead to an enormous increase in the amount of water needed to grow sugar as a fuel crop. By 2030, China's own Ministry of Water Resources predicts such resources will fall 20% lower to a mark coinciding with internationally recognized levels of "water stress". The Ministry of Water Resources expects to spend US$125 billion by 2010 to rescue the national water system. These figures include US$41.25 billion to construct urban wastewater treatment facilities.

Several hundred factories produce waste water treatemnt equipment materials. However companies with a good balance sheet, technological capability and Chinese support will prosper from China's water opportunity.

Another investment theme worth looking at is water.
UN Urges Finding Solutions to Water Crisis
By Nick Hodge | Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

It seems that in the wake of recent economic turmoil and growing concern over a real energy crisis that another major worldwide problem has been put on the backburner: a growing lack of fresh water.

And while water stocks were rallying a few months back, the buying--as well as the press coverage--seems to have subsided. But if you pay close attention to nuanced news sites and niche media outlets, you'll see that the water crisis is still a pressing issue.

Plus, with most market sectors recently falling anywhere from 10% to 20%, now could be a good time to get your feet wet, so to speak.

With that in mind, let's take a look at how the water picture is shaping up for the U.S. and the rest of the world.

Quite a few markets are not open for trading today due to CNY, thus, SG & HK have got to bite the bullets for the new year sell down. But dun loose your heart/soul, be strong and look for bargains to take profit later on. Looking at Singtel, OCBC, SPH....

I am pretty excited and this Pre_CNY crash is well within my expectations.. just like the last CNY in 2007..

the drop in US was a surprise to us...however, all indicators have pointed to us that STI have bottomed in the short term and we will carry on to buy on dip ...believe that the rebound will be fast and furious ...good luck and Happy Lunar New Year (judge us in mid-April then as day-to-day flunctuation is ignored but the trend is worth more, and you can always condemn us if our call is wrong by that time)

I think someone, senior, said buying stock during bear's period is not a very good practice. Henceforth, pse reconsider the advice again, its true. You may consider to buy in Odd lots, if you need them, next Mon or so.

If you missed the shorting season, don't be disheartened, watch carefully and hammer the bugger again. Pse note not any counter can be shorted. I shorted SGX last Fri, with 10.18 and 10.00. A belated big Hong Bau by next Mon for me leow, though 2 bits higher.
