STI now is 2800.16, SGX dropped back to 6.29 from 6.41 after lunch. SingTel couldn't hold as well. From now on, its good for shortists. Be vigillant folks, good luck.

March 20 (Bloomberg) -- Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden condemned the European Union over the publication of cartoons insulting to the Prophet Muhammad, signaling a possible future terrorist attack, a U.S.-based intelligence group said.

In an audio message posted on extremist Web sites, bin Laden said the publication of the cartoons is a greater crime than Western forces killing Muslim villagers, according to IntelCenter, based in Alexandria, Virginia. The ``reckoning for it will be more severe,'' he said.

``If there is no check in the freedom of your words, then let your hearts be open to the freedom of our actions,'' bin Laden said in the five-minute-long tape.

Not much fun in morning trading. Alamah strong Singtel could  fall 12 cents? Its not a good atmosphere for shortist. Mid day, SGX volumn only half what yesterday had been traded.

STI not likely hold above 2800 by end of the day. My guess, one of the 3 guesses hoh.

if $20000 will have $4000 rebate then the poor can borrow from the rich. the $4000 can split between them wat.

Yeh yeh yeh...if any one got S$20,000 in Cpf, gov can afford to top up with $4,000, those less then that, is on pro rate accordingly., so those poor may not be able to top up to 20,000 as they have to live on daily w/o any cent left, w/o $$$ left for top up their own a/c. Some even do not have a CPF a/c. This will contiune to pluck gov concern, poor remain poor even after 65...sadSmiley

53, your idea is good. This yr, before July, the CPF special account limit is, I think is 96K, and if you are not reaching 55 yr old. If you hv full vested in the SA but you can only take half of it out from the CPF when you reaches 55. Of course, 53, with your thinking, when you reaches 55 you will leave the full SA amount to be transfered to the Retirement Account. And you will only take the monthly pay our from the RA once you reach 62 or 65. 4 % yrly interest on both SA and RA is very attractive, moreover, now under the special CPF policy, you may get extra 1 % interest on both SA and RA.

As for Stearns issue, thats basically was the State rescue policy, outsider has no say leow.

What is the outlook of the current stock market, really can't predict leow as there are so many uncertainties. Play by ears and hit and run are basically are the current best strategy, my views.

If there's sooo much $$$ to loss around, might as well pay some $$$ into our CPF for long term investment till we hit 55..err 65 isit for now, to collect our $$$. Just do not understand why JPmorganBears can bought at US2/- and We can't...?

I am more biased to the bear side in a big way...
