flee while u can... markets rise too fast too furious..
aftermath will be also too fast too furious..
not sure if the market can substains. Seems like after sub-prime, still got rising food and fuel prices to worry about.. never-ending
any opinions on how the STI will react today? it went up super high on the US Markets...and it gave me the feeling that was of the Fed cut days in which ppl sell into strength and profit-take...also clueless how the market will react
STI will cheong today. At least +70 points!
AK, hv no confidence in future market performance cos data frm US 2morrow night till friday night cud b negative but again cud b positve AND negatif cud b viewed as positif n vice versa......dunno how 2 hv confidence in market performance. will get in when market stabilise....when (dun think anybody knows).
Actually this few weeks have kind of been predictable. Not too high not too low. Up and down up and down. Good to play if you buy sell buy sell.
Some people are zero. They predict gloom and doom till doomsday come. By tomorrow (Nobody know how the DJIA ends down or up), just wondering whether they would still be talking about gloom and doom. Seems like one session can sway their soul.
What AK opine is that, the next US announcement is coming Thu, there is still room for up trend for STI for tomorrow(Wed) and day later(Thu). However, its need to wacth out next Mon market, as US will announce the employment Index on US Fri. Nonetheless, its still not that bad if you decide to unload counters on coming Fri, if you are confident in future market performance.
2morrow 4 ppl 2 unload AND 4 hit n run, not wise 2 buy 2morrow, hopefully 2 sell the day after 4 higher profits....just hit n run, tt's the game these days......anyway it's ur $$$, so decision is solely urs.
AK think what you all in minds is Yangz and ChinaEng lah. Now DJ is at 259 up trend, hoe saih leow loh. Hope it will rally till next morning. I hv already bought some Yangz on Mon. Hope for the best, cheers.
I agree with Livermore and is particularly in favour of small cap stock. As you can see 1 lot of $50 shares is equivalent to 10 lots of $5 shares or 100 lots of $0.50 or 1000 lots of $0.05 shares. So that goes to says that a $0.01 increase in a $0.05 shares is quivalent to $0.10 increase in $0.50 share which is also $1 increase from a $5 shares or a $10 increase in a $50 shares.
But it is faster to take profit in a small cap if you buy sell buy sell.

Despite some negative comments on China stocks, China stocks are still my bet. But find the right one. You have been reading a lot of investment theme which just go on and on - commodities, infrastructure etc. Find those stocks with such themes and with good results the past few years with low valuation and you get a winning stock.
Clues are given in papers but in a indirect way:)
Singapore market will be CHEONG tomorrow ? Good luck to all for those vested
In the good old days (that was in Oct 2007), volumes were trading at twice the volumes we see these days.

i guess many of us have been noticing the volume and understand tt it plays an important part in trading...in ur view (anyone...)...care to share what is considered a healthy volume? will a significant increase be considered healthy (e.g. 2 weeks ago...volume was 1 billion+ on avg...but last week we did saw a day that gained 2billion)?

Hi livermore
Can u gif some counters u have in mind???
Hi StupidFool,
Don't always focus on blue chips. I prefer to focus on those that can become "blue". You can't make much buying blue chips unless you have a huge capital. Don't need to focus on companies with dividends but focus on those with growth potential and low valuation

There are no secrets to picking value shares. The key is abilility to hold long term as opposed to short term or trading in shares.
Go for companies with track record of ability to pay regular and consitent dividends.
Rule of thumb is to buy counters with PE of 12 or less.Price to Book Value of no more than 3.
Thus companies like SIA,SPC,Keppel corp,UOB and DBS to name a few will fall in this category.
Just my opinion and for sharing.

same call from my chart below(qoute) and a qoute from the father of EW
"Panics are sudden emotional mass realizations of reality. At these points, reason suddenly impresses itself upon the mass psyche, saying, 'Things have gone too far. The current levels are not justified by reality.' To the extent that reason is disregarded, then, will be the extent of the extremes of mass emotional swings and their mirror, the market. ? When the fifth wave of the fifth wave tops out, we need not ask why it has done so. Reality, again, will be forced upon us. The laws of nature will have to be patiently relearned."
