Market now is very very weird...... Nothing to follow as in the index rises but most of the stocks stagnant and if dow jone went down..... most stocks moves....

From wat i see... there is nothing much to play today.... except EZRA that have a potential to jack up somemore....

cheers and i will look look see see (window shopping) today.. Smiley

Francis,

I know what you mean. Actually the markets react initially only to DJIA index from the previous night, but as trading goes on during the day, the markets will react more to the Dow futures. STI is no exception as a forward looking stock index.

That's why sometimes the markets appear to be behaving totally contradictory to what happened to Dow the night before. And of course if you throw in Nikkei, HSI, SSE into the mix, sometimes Dow doesn't have that much impact on STI.

But on the contrary, nowadays DJ drops like shit, but STI no tension leh, IE last Fri DJ diarrhoea 123 but STI today heartbeat up 18. Really, kanfused leow. If tonite no more 2nd wave of earthquake in PRC, then Q now for your delights loh. Adjust 2morow, should DJ plunge like hell, if Ms Kinton jump to the sea due to Okama confirmed to face the rival, in the president grand finale election soon..

I love what I saw on the DJIA daily charts. It hit 12865.4. So, even if DJIA close later at above 12788 tonight, DJIA is technically forming uptrend.

To me, the best possible close is if it close at 12861.5. Hehe. That would indicate strong bullishness after the last 6 days of downtrend market.

I beg to differ. If DJIA tonight closes above 12788, there should be more upside for STI tomorrow. I'd be even happier if Dow can just touch 12861.5 tonight. If not, DJIA is in consolidation mode.

As for STI, if it remains well within 3165-3209 for tomorrow, technically it will be the 2nd day of uptrend.

3157 will be a critical support should 3165 fail to hold. A break below that is likely to induce selling.

As for stocks, evaluate them independently of STI. It seems some property and engineering conglomerate blue chips are in fact about to make significant ascents.

In today's paper, the OPEC hinted that they may increase output to curb the rising price for crude oil.

its their holiday...well...next Monday is our turn for holiday (Vesak Day)...most of the time HSI lead STI...today no HSI...so we are probably taking cue from Nikkei..from one point of time -0.7% to currently only -0.17%...sometimes i really wonder if we should buy when US Dow is in the red and sell when it is in the green...darnz difficult to gauge market
