STI range for tomorrow: 2917-2862. Likely resistances 2922, 2917. Likely supports 2900, 2862, 2876, 2859.

Suffice to say, I'm holding a small amount of puts. The bear trend is pretty strong although the bottoming should be within the next 2 wks.

I have a nigging suspicion 2745 will be put to the test. Dow already failed the equivalent test at 11634. HSI is not so far off  from 21691. Nikkei by far the strongest surprisingly, but I won't rule out a test of 13000.

Wait and see. Even if the supports hold, it sure ain't anywhere near a bull run situation. Still cloudy economic outlook.

In a market turmoil, the term "safe-haven" is rather an irony...as even STI was wipe out $120b in market capitalisation...more to come???

Goldman Sach today mentioned Singapore Market starting to look similar to "safe-haven", quite resilient relative to regional peers though upside limited. I think long term players with financial strength are starting to accumulate gradually while all the weak players had more less exit the Market.

Market is now not suited for quick gain anymore. So contra/short should go for long holiday breaks instead.

With the twin pillar (China & India) markets both down by over 3% today, hold on tight to your seat belt...

imho, market now is more suited for long-term investors, not contra or short. At a minimum, be prepared to hold at least 2 years.

(i'm tickled by cashier's comment. Most people would be very very happy if can make 10-baggers. 100-bagger would be a godsend. For me, 5-baggers enough leow. If i keep it for 10 years and it come out 500% gain. That is 50% pa absolute return. Can join the hall of fame leow... juz joking.)

STI has been holding off rather well compares with its peer in Asia, but does this boils well in the medium term??? Wouldn't BB starts offloading the fat meat they have on hand to cover their loss elswhere....hmmmmm....only times will tell.

STI will defintely test 2900 level follows by 2850....on and on....

If one knows how to play the mkt,TA or FA or  just experience will make money.

Have to be flexible to make $$$ and not just stick to TA.

Singapore market is no place for FA ppl. There is no real Value stocks to be found based on Warren buffet criteria. U hardly get 10 baggers and 100 baggers in singapore unless those over speculated counters to say 10 baggers at best. in fact u can use both hand to count the real 10+ baggers stocks.

TA & EA traders will be better bet if you know how to play the market the BBs style

hardly.

just because it won't likely hit 1,900, doesn't mean it's a bull run coming.

don't misquote me, please.

A clear signal of stock rally will commence soon!!!

wah ha! finally we close below 1 bil in vol. rare event indeed.

nah, i would put 1,900 only as a remote possibility. it means almost all of the STI components have to fall to below 2003 levels, which means they'd be trading below NAV. FA practioners would swoop in to buy if that ever was realised.

the disappointment if you ask me: that other asian govts will step in to shore up their markets; but our own govt will do nothing. Except buy in foreign, tanking banks. haha.
