thanks, no so old yet  but minimum sum do apply for me.

property can offset 50 % of the sum...... but not always good to use it as guide.....  and special account, I did not touch it is counted as part of min sum and ordinary account...... which you can use it to buy property.

eplepl, there are implications if you are near 55 years old. A certain amount of your CPF funds will be converted into your retirement account. if buying you have to consider this point

On the other hand many sold their properties at 55 or after and realized the minimum amount had to be 'locked in' reducing their amount of 'take home cash'

BullishTempo      ( Date: 18-Apr-2011 15:21) Posted:

From what I understand, HDB will always take what you have in your CPF first and then give you a loan for the remaining amount that you need.

But I am not an expert in this area, best to call HDB and check with them directly.

return of equity from selling off property....

now some cpf money is idle in the account..... so thinking to full redemption or let it roll on interest income... 2.5 % vs 1.75 % sibor

i have a small question.... which ask those bank loan experts and they are giving diff answers.

say for hdb bank loan of 100K - sibor interest rate 1.75% or lower.... changes from time to time...

and your cpf and you got sufficient or more than 100K...... do you perform a full redemption or u keep the 100 K in cpf as passive income.... given cpf is paying 2.5 % interest rate

XD date is 19 April 2011.

so will it goes down further ?

BullishTempo      ( Date: 18-Apr-2011 15:14) Posted:

Check the XD date for OCBC. I don't keep track of OCBC so I don't know.

Tomorrow give out dividends does not mean the XD date is tomorrow. The XD date could be today or last week, better check.

eplepl      ( Date: 18-Apr-2011 15:09) Posted:

just a question,

like ocbc tomorrow giving out dividend.... today it seems to drop alot....

after the dividend pay out will it drop further

Should be 30%. Use only 30% of your capital with CFDs.

Keep the other 70% free.
