It's not acceptable in this day and age for software to lack this simple error-trapping feature.

I tried q & b @ low price but accidently executed s @ low price -- order was filled w/in sec.  Face also changed color.    Gratefully, p dropped and made kopi$.

I feel brokerage could help by prompting user re illogical orders -- but accident/not, they still earn.  Perhaps, should also penalise brokerage for not having such prompts in system?

I accidently short Ying Li few months back.

I call my  remisier.

He told me this is serious offence if I don buy back the stock on the same day.

Fine $1000 if not buy back on same day.

Contra can 3 days, short must be same day buy back.

Is it still same day cover back or 3 days later?? is the below still accurate??

 from SGX FAQ section -

What if I fail to deliver my shares?

If an investor does not have the required shares in his account on the due date (the third market day following the trade day), CDP will buy-in shares on the market to satisfy the delivery obligation.

Buying-in starts the day after the due date, and will start at two minimum bids above the closing price of the previous day, the current last done price or the current bid, whichever is the highest.

The investor will pay the difference between his selling price and the buy-in price, including brokerage and other costs.

Hi ,

Need clarification on naked short. In STI what happen if you accidently sold the shares instead of buying and only realize after the market closed. Will there be penalty by SGX? if not what are the grace period. Is it T+3 also? or need to buy on the same day? Urgently need enlightment.

If I recall correctly, there'll be penalty (but don't know by SGX or the vendor) and the 'buy' will be automatically triggered with whatever the closing price is.

Happen to me before when I accidentally sold CPF shares but selected Cash :(
