Print media will never die. There will always be print advertisement and we can see more of such  demands in the long term.

Newbie here. How long must i own the share before I qualified for dividend payout? If I but now do I qualified for the dec payout? When do sph do their dividend payout? March n dec?

JP Morgan assumes coverage with Neutral Call and TP $4.32. Note of strong cash generation profile mitigated by tepid growth outlook for print media. Steady cash flow stream and ability to drive dividend higher, but long-term growth prospects for print media are poor. SPH increasing its online presence, but low visibility on monetization. Valuation is in line with regional peers despite lower growth. On a P/E basis, SPH is trading at 20.3x FY14E P/E, in line with ASEAN media peers, despite a relatively tepid earnings growth profile.

If SPH can widen its' net in Media (TV & Radio ) channels like what Hong Kong 李 嘉 成 groups would even b better!

			 Agree. Good and steady dividends.

SPH is a monopoly and a fortress for anyone investing for income.:)

Sph is the highest dividend yield payout stock in SGX.

Not a gd sign that the main business profit is dwindling.

FY2013 Net Profit Down 25% To S$431 Million, Proposed Final Dividend Of S$0.15.
Singapore Press Holdings Limited reported its results for the year ended 31 August 2013. Net profit attributable to shareholders of $431.0 million was $143.8 million (25.0%) lower compared to FY 2012. The current year's results included a fair value gain of $111.4 million arising from the change in recognition of investment properties from cost to fair value basis in view of the establishment of SPH REIT. This was $87.3 million (43.9%) lower than the fair value gain recognised in the previous year based on restated financial statements. Group recurring earnings of $369.3 million fell by $59.5 million (13.9%), mainly attributable to lower contribution from the Newspaper and Magazine business including an impairment charge for an overseas subsidiary. In addition, there was a step-up in business activities for the Online segment...
