How can you say it's "boring" when it is one of the most exciting days???

Correct ! Typical exp for mocycle.
Old can't affort to fall once, as bones aged..
Younger one can last more falls till they master how not to fall again.
Meaning: Money can do a lot of things, including trading/investment, even fall or fail, can start again. But the old one, once falls, not much milage left for advance liao.
Ha ha, finally, time for lunch n happy hr laio, though knee still pain. Cheers for being alive another morning.

What's so hard to ride one-wheel bicycle (a mocyle)? Even a small girl in a Chinese circus show can ride it...

Ya, all we can do is to give our advices.
When I first started, also fall off my bicycle before.
Now better... Can ride far and long.
But still cannot ride backward like you...

The real problem (ie. in the real world) is that the typical stock newbie... Does not think along those lines... Most newbies want to rev up a Lambo... Even before they have tasted the pain of falling off a bicycle... With that kind of mentality, no advice makes any sense to them...

Quite right, playing with toy money is different from playing with real money.
But if the person don't know how to drive a car, its dangerous to just throw him into the middle of a Busy road and ask him to drive.
It's better for him to learn the basics first at the driving school, before going into the real world.
Yes. Ultimately, he'll still need to face the Busy road, but at least he knows the basic and rules to avoid a major accident.
Ultimately, she'll still need to face and master the psychological barrier of trading with real money, but at least she has a plan to avoid the major mistakes.

The region markets still don't look well but the good thing is we can chat cheerfully like fishing at seaside in the absence of holding the shares on hands..
The truth is this...
It is impossible for anyone to trade without emotion...
hehehe...

To start real trading without first doing any paper trading is dangerous. Paper trading is just to create a trading strategy for yourself. The problem that many people have, is not paper trading, but trading with emotion. To be a successful trader, you cannot trade with emotion. You must control your emotion and trade with your strategy. If you cannot control your emotion, then it's better not to trade at all.

alex,
but in paper we detach from emotion.
in real market is all but emotion driven, there will still be much diffence between real market & paper trade.
i am still trying very hard to control my emotion in market...hehehe
but start with apper trade is a good practise |

You scare because you do not have any trading strategy. First, you need to start practicing and develop your trading strategy without putting any cash. Just look at the current market and simulated your trades on paper/spreadsheet. After every simulated trade, record your result and determine how you can improve your next trading. After some time, you'll develop a trading strategy suitable for yourself and you'll also become more confident. Once, you can make profit 7 out of every 10 trades, you are ready to start playing with real money. |

i think for newbies, better to start with small amount & at the same time practise paper trading.
Avoid contra & margin...
i have seen margin wipe out even some 'sifu-trader' entire wealth in 1 go....
