No country will change their policies for any company just because they operate differently in another country.
China will not change their policy for Google just because Google want to be less regulated like they are in other countries.
Likewise, US will not change their policy just for any China company just because they don't want to follow US law.
I think Google is scare of China stealing their trade secrets, which are in their search engines. They rather forgo China market than having their secrets risk leaking out.
Poor Japanese Auto industry, I am sorry about that. So I hope Japan economic and trade revenge will begin with Robotic industry for the next decade to USA most likely.

Did you read yesterday StraitsTimes, our censorship board no longer do that on Internet gate liao, is only the IDA who do the block, the censorship claim they cannot play catchup with so many new sites keep floating up. I have friends even link using "SlingBox" to hook on to his relatives in US to access Playxx and PentHxx website, now no big deal. People can now buy Mediaplayer box from Sim Lim and download HD movies from "Sunlei" and "PPS" sites to see movies online. And who care whether Singtel or Starhub cannot bid the broadcast right World Cup, all can see live or download online !

I think it is quite obvious that there is a hidden agenda, I suppose. They are now conjuring Microsoft to do the same also.

This morning I heard from the news that another US company is also pulling out bcos, it said China wants to have the full information of its clients and their photos. Can not recall the company name.

when in Rome do as the Romans do. U cant go into a country n say look I dun like ur laws n regulations so u should change it. No country will say oh ok because u are so big i will listen to u.
