Going off on a short holiday tomorrow. Good luck everyone!
Keep a watch this week on news on the Auto-Bailout, inflation reports from UK and the interest rate decision from the US Fed. It is going to be a volatile week. |

No, it will be taken as the financial precious lesson! Preventive healthy financial control system could be set up in the future and the effects have been partly or wholely felt and factored in lately.

Sinking for half a year and floating back again in one and half years perhaps.............
tchekchuan ( Date: 12-Dec-2008 16:06) Posted:
Looks like companies such as Keppel Corp, Swiber, Ezra and other shipping industries are greatly affected by the downturn.
Do you think they would ever go sinking?
My dad used to tell me that where there are waters and seas, the demand will always be great and lots of money working in offshore. It is a matter whether are you willing to sacrifice your freedom, safety and time to commit in these industries.
What are your view guys? |

No no no, the reason for the fall is people are selling to clear positions as the holiday season approaches. They don't want holding too many shares. Other things are secondary to most of these traders |

It is a "PEAK FALL". Hence, recovering should take some times. I suppose.

Sianz.. Bought 10 Swiber lots at $1.82, now not even worth half the price...
Any views about this company?

I agree with baseerahmed, and I think that's what we hope to be good in these areas: Biomed, Financial hub, Info-telecom hub etc. We've "strong fundamentals" e.g. regulatory standards and advantage of East-West management cultures etc. But the emerging giants China, India etc are also developing from bigger talent pools.
BTW, Creative also have another brandname in China - to meet local market needs. In China, for electronics market, so far only Nokia still holds strong to its brand....
