In view of the severity of the downturn in container shipping, the company expects to incur significant losses in the fourth quarter of 2009 and at least through the first half of next year.Despite the cost saving measures that have been implemented and recent improvements in volumes and freight rates in certain trade lanes, NOL anticipates a continuation of adverse business operating conditions.

Its amaze that u can forecast more loss in next qtr.

I am more positive bc of christmas season & current ramp up in semi-con sector.

I foreseen possible recovery in next qtr. Even if there is loss, might be minimum............

(My opinion)

soloman      ( Date: 07-Dec-2009 18:04) Posted:

Sorry lah, next qtr even more losses

losses continue to 1H2010 at least

Haha, dual listing is not placement share or rights lah. Basically it is to list its share in both Taiwan & S'pore.

In actual is quite positive to stock.

Cheers.

Some people don't like dual listings but I think it is good to dual list a stock.

The Up is also due to expected stock catalysts from potential divestment gains and asset revaluations in China when yields start to compress. However risks on the other hand, could stem from a longer-than-expected gestation period for its immature assets and volatility in debt and capital markets."

Keppel Land Ltd: 87 out of 90 units at Marina Bay Suites sold

Summary:
Keppel Land has reportedly sold 87 out of the 90 units previewed last week, fetching close to S$400m in sales proceeds. According to BT, six whole floors were bought by investors from Indonesia, Singapore and other Asia countries. The biggest transaction in absolute terms was close to S$45m and was for at least two whole floors - the buyer is said to be an Indonesian party. Purchases of entire floors in residential projects had slowed down since the onset of the crisis. Now, with buyers purchasing entire floors at this high end-end project, it further instill our confidence on the impact of the completion of the integrated resorts on the surrounding residential properties and the return of investor interests in the high-end property in Singapore. We maintain our BUY rating on Keppel Land with fair value of S$3.61. (Foo Sze Ming)

STI to rise to 3,180 by 2010 says Credit Suisse: Update

Singapore’s Straits Times Index may rise at least 14% to 3,180 by the end of next year, reflecting continued upgrades in earnings estimates, said Credit Suisse Group AG and UBS AG.

The gauge rose 0.5% to 2,786.03 as of 3:41 p.m. in Singapore. The index has climbed 91% from a six-year low on March 9 on signs stimulus measures were reviving economies around the world.

“Consensus earnings upgrades have helped trigger share price performance in 2009,” Credit Suisse analyst Sean Quek wrote in a note dated yesterday. “We expect this trend to continue into 2010 on a more positive top-line and margins outlook.”

The brokerage said it is “overweight” on transport, banking, media and property stocks. Among its top picks are Singapore Airlines, DBS Group Holdings, Neptune Orient Lines, Hyflux  and Parkway Holdings.

Credit Suisse and UBS join Citigroup Inc. in forecasting further gains for Singapore stocks next year. UBS expects the index to reach 3,200 by the end of next year. Citigroup expects the gauge to climb to 3,250 by the middle of next year before it stalls. It previously forecast the index to rise to 3,000 next year.

“The Straits Times Index will likely rise in early 2010, driven by a synchronized global recovery, inventory restocking and continued stimulus,” Citigroup analyst Chua Hak Bin wrote in a note dated Nov. 30. Chua said the benchmark index may stall after June because the government will likely start unwinding stimulus measures in the second half.

UBS also expressed concern over a potential monetary policy tightening next year. “The government is likely to remain vigilant on a potential asset bubble in residential property.”

Keppel Land Ltd: Exceptional demand at MBS

Summary:
The Marina Bay Suites (MBS) was finally previewed last week and saw exceptional demand from buyers on the first day. The pricing achieved for MBS is impressive compared to other properties in the vicinity and we have now raised our average selling price assumption for MBS to S$2,500. Among the developers, Keppel Land (KepLand) is best positioned to benefit from the opening of the IRs. KepLand still holds three pieces of land at the Keppel Bay area and these could appreciate in value over the long term. As we are now more optimistic on the high-end property segment, we have removed the 20% discount that had been previously ascribed in our valuation and thus derive a fair value of S$3.61 on KepLand. With a slew of positive catalysts ahead in 2010 – the opening of the IRs, completion of the Marina Bay Financial Centre and the launch of MBS, we are now upgrading KepLand from HOLD to BUY. Emm i waiting for below $2. Just below IPO price still not attractive. If u read from below Forum, u will know the exact price of this babe. All the traders are buying at premium price (more expensive).

At this type of economy situation, must buy wisely.

My opinion.

I suppose CMA will drip on Monday and pick up from there.  If it drips to below IPO price than buy in to average.  What is your advice? Thanks
