China home prices seen dropping more
Citic Ka Wah Bank cites weak demand, govt unlikely to ease up loan restrictions

SHANGHAI) Property prices in China will fall further because demand is weak and the government probably won't relax restrictions on home loans, according to Citic Ka Wah Bank chief economist Liao Qun.

'Policy targets with respect to the property market are still some way from being reached,' Mr Liao said at a press briefing here yesterday. 'The adjustment of the market is set to continue into 2009.'

China's government is seeking to rein in soaring property prices to help slow inflation from an 11-year high. It raised interest rates on mortgages for second homes and increased the minimum downpayment to 40 per cent of the sale price last September.

NOL faces fall in European rates, says UBS
Analysts lower EPS estimates by 8%, cut target stock price, keep 'neutral' rating

SINGAPORE) Neptune Orient Lines, South-east Asia's largest sea-cargo carrier, may report lower Asia-Europe freight rates in the second half of the year as volume growth on the trade lane slows, UBS said.

UBS analysts Alex Chang and Ronald Keung lowered earnings per share estimates for the company by as much as 8 per cent between 2008 and 2010, according to a report last Friday.

UBS also cut the target price for the shipping company's stock by 15 per cent to $3.30 while retaining a 'neutral' rating.

The Board of Directors of FDS Networks Group Ltd. considers it necessary to give
shareholders guidance on the results for the half year ended June 30 2008.

In our full year 2007 announcement, we outlined an expected improvement performance
in 2008. However continuing delays of projects and revenue recognition together with
slowing business conditions have delayed this improvement. We therefore expect
losses to continue in the first half of 2008.

We will continue to update the market as and when deemed necessary.

Palm Oil Rises After 3 Days of Losses; Crude, Soybean Oil Climb

By Claire Leow and Yoga Rusmana

July 9 (Bloomberg) -- Palm oil in Malaysia gained, ending three days of losses, as main rival soybean oil and crude rose after Iran test-fired a long range missile, raising concerns about energy security.

Palm and soybean oils, mostly used in food, often follow crude as vegetable oils can be used to make alternative fuels. Crude surged as much as 1.7 percent to $138.28 a barrel, after slumping 6.4 percent in New York in the past two days. Soybean oil, which tumbled 5.8 percent in two days, gained as much as 1.6 percent to 66 cents a pound in Chicago.
