In order to curb those non-gambling people to set foot at RWS, RWS should come out with a rule i.e. - must exchange into chips worth $100 or top up their membership cards at least $100 before they could step into casino.

At RWS, Some go there just to drink coffee and look , see, look, see , go toilets pang sai......
MBS dont have coffee station, and you dont see so many of these 'look-see' non-gamblers there.

Errr.... I think $100 does not really deter a gambler from going (just probably means $100 less capital to them). More like the $100 is to deter the non-gambler like me from 'over clouding' the place and consuming resources that would have otherwise be meant for the gambler ; )

besides respect the 'Market Beasts', must we worship them also? lol!
iPunter ( Date: 05-Jul-2010 10:24) Posted:
Hahaha.... You have obviously missed my point... When I say "The stock market only rewards humble and 'guai' (adaptable) people", I don't mean we must all be small kids to play the stock market. What I meant is that we must respect the stock market beast because the beast will not let us be smarter than it. So whenever we feel extremely confident and hold a strong view that it will go up or down as we think, we are no trespecting the beast at all. Thus, we must respect the stock market beast at all times, but not insist that our own opinions must be right...

We should take a proactive approach...
Which means to say, if we have a view,
we must anticipate the outcome and then act decisively when the moment arrives.
But we must on no account be staunch in our view, (whether up or down),
because the stock market is never a place for staunch believers and people with contentious views...
The stock market only rewards humble and 'guai' (adaptable) people...
hehehe...

The below statement is worth pondering over -
Sounds like they can concur the whole of Sentosa in
1) opportunities in the leisure -
Movies making? (in the RWS universal studio) or another golden village in the making?
Huge theme park?
2) opportunites in gaming -
another casino? or huge gaming centre ?
3) opportunties in hospitality -
Genting added that the net proceeds of the proposed divestment may be deployed for strategic growth opportunities in the leisure, hospitality and gaming sectors, when opportunities arise.

This is just basically passing cash from left hand to right hand. My question is what are they going to do with the $697 million? Are they going to use it to pay their debt or pay their bonuses?

Genting Singapore to divest UK operations
Mainboard-listed Genting Singapore will divest its casino businesses in the United Kingdom to Genting Malaysia for £340 million ($697 million).
Genting said the divestment of the UK operations will allow it to focus on strengthening the large scale integrated resort experience it gained in developing Resorts World Sentosa (RWS).
The sale of the operations will also add resources to enable RWS to conduct customer acquisition, marketing and brand development.
Genting added that the net proceeds of the proposed divestment may be deployed for strategic growth opportunities in the leisure, hospitality and gaming sectors, when opportunities arise. |

The oil spill has caused the company who is doing the desalinated water works , facing a tougher future, i.e., they not only need to remove excess sault and menerals etc, now they have to remove the STICKY OIL..
Jackpot2010 ( Date: 02-Jul-2010 11:05) Posted:
Both are Temasek-linked Co. & compete on desalinated water works, but K-Green is selling below NAV + Zero gearing now - so should be hv more POWER going forward, my view.
Cityspring NAV = 43c., Yield 8% (Price @ 60c = 1.4x NAV)
Vs. K-Green NAV = 1.13c, Yield 7% (Price @ $1.07 = 0.95x NAV).
Henry$$$ ( Date: 30-Jun-2010 21:06) Posted:
Yield?? I believe cityspring higher yeild. If u bought from day one ..too bad ....your return + yield are negative...Let's see at 30% disocunt of its NAV. |
