The steady growth of deterioration can compound the ill effects of climate change. We can just wait for the green house effect coming to us as time draws near. This is not peotry but it is a real threat. Sigh..

The air quality here is certainly getting worse, not just the dust. The exhaust fumes with poisoness, odorless CO(carbon monoxide) from the increasing car population; CO2 from the increasing human population ... Not to mention the increasing noise level ... even Bk Timah Hill is no escape with the incessant singing crickets(?), Louise should know. Sometimes I choose far-flung places to go for holidays, not just for their remote beauties but the crisp fresh air as well. And silence ... the silence in the wilderness so loud that every heartbeat is a thunder.

hi pharoah, you seems to be having lots of anger to vent, always big big letters and so annoyed/angry about the system here. I agreed with you some points. Here there is no transparency. As protest is not allowed, people have been used to accepting what the heads said, eg: fare is still afforable( nowadays I replenish my E-link card more often), singaporeans only use 30% of their income or saving to mortage the apt so the apt is still consider affordable. the mrt is not crowded(this is really laughable, whoever singaporean ever took MRT or buses, he will know the darn great different, not only no seat from the starting few stations, one is not able to board the train during rush hours which had never happened before---so who are there lying to. It's wiser if they compare it with Japan subway, then it sound more right). really uncomfortable taking buses nowadays, have the chinese immigrant carrying their big bags with things to sell, differents languages(some sounds like frog) and lound indian musics with some ah pei's, ah beng's hokkien and cantanese songs. Unlike before(before the hugh immigrants flooding here and those high tech cell phone, the commuting journey was always silent and lesser people--I miss that). As regards to the dust level, it can be reflect from inside the nostrils.........ouuuuuuu, yeeee. yakkie The stock market is so unpleasant, so gossip abit |

I am at the East side, the sky has become quite red. I think it is due to the coming national day practices.

We used to say that the sky is blue. I see the sky as black. It depends on where you are viewing the sky. In the northern side, where I live, it is always enveloped in thick blackish clouds. I missed the moon and the stars sometimes many nights at a stretch.

Hi, I was real surprised to see you all talked about foul smell. Didn't you realised that the sky is always dark nowadays? I think started about 2 months ago. In April 2010, the skies were quite clear and the night skies were beautiful Now it is different. Take a look at the sky tonight and you know what I meant. Something is cooking.

whenever I go to Jurong West(since many years ago), I smell very strong soy sauce in the air, so "thick" that it smell like kind of chemical. I always wonder if it's something to do with a soy sauce factory there(is there one there). Not in other parts of Singapore. |
