To see the market's health, one need to check the pulse of many, many stocks. And this is where the hard work comes in... Under the circumstances, sell all your property stocks including REITS. Buy some construction stocks that can benefit from gov releasing more space for development.

Sept. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Singapore is introducing new measures to prevent excessive price swings in the property market following signs that speculative home buying may be on the rise, National Development Minister Mah Bow Tan said. The government will push for more sites to be sold and will bar interest-only mortgages for uncompleted housing projects, Mah said. It will also stop allowing developers to absorb interest payments for apartments that are still being built, he added. Singapore's home sales may reach 10,000 homes in the first seven months, and the so-called take-up rate for these projects may reach a record, he added. |

SINGAPORE, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Singapore will tighten rules on housing loans to make it tougher for people to borrow, National Development Minister Mah Bow Tan said on Monday according to state television. With the new rules that come into effect immediately, banks and developers will not be allowed to offer housing loans whereby the borrower only pays the interest and defers repayment of the principal to a later date, Channel NewsAsia said. Home prices in Singapore have soared in recent months, with transactions hitting record monthly highs, as buyers flock to showrooms for new apartments. I am a newbie to this forum and have been reading it the past couple of wks. CheongWee: I have enjoyed your posts and your strong opinions, and you show that you care and are willing to help others. It is also an inspiration to me when you share your thoughts/insights into the market and also your successes. RichTan: Your willingness to help others, especially newbies, is fantastic. I have found your posts in the newbie section on TA guides to be very helpful. Again, you have strong opinions and stand by them. The fact that both of you have strong opinions and are willing to help others is remarkable and worthy of our respect. From your posts, you both seem to be very successful in trading, which in itself, is a great testament to your abilities, taking into account 90% of people lose money in the stock market. Personally, I have interest in TA, while at the same time, I feel that I cannot discount FA as stock market is basically influenced by the psychology of the people who trade in it. To me, most important is that we have a system to help us win. There are many methods to reach a goal, ultimately, the "method" is not important, only that we have reached our goal. CW: I would like to thank you for your contributions and hope you continue to stay in this forum. It will be a shame if this forum is only dominated by TA, without any FA experts to offer a different perspective to the market situation to newbies like me. RichTan: Would like to also thank you for your encouraging and inspirational posts. It is a fact that Sh*t happens, it is a fact that people will misunderstand/miscommunicate, it is a fact that people will have different opinions.... it is with tolerence and mutual respect, that we can all live in peace. |
