Let see how it goes this coming week.     "Outperform" means that it will perform better than the general market which, in our case, is measured by STI. Hence, it may not mean a sure increase in price.      Analysts normally give TP over 12 months. However, some do also specify 6 months. In this case, I take it as 12 months. But take it with a pinch of salt. Ride the uptrend now and release at an appropriate time. Never fall in love with any stock.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	CIMB-GK has raised its target price to $1.00 from $0.805 previously as it expects the growth momentum in earnings to continue. Amtek, a supplier of metal parts for electronics, home appliances and cars, reported that its net profit for the first quarter ended September jumped 37% yoy to US$9.49 mln on the back of higher margins from the outsourcing trend and its shift to higher value-added jobs. CIMB-GK said Amtek's results were above its expectations. It further took note of the company's positive guidance going forward. "Also, we believe the group will be able to sustain its healthy dividend payments through management's efforts to control capex," it said in a note. It said it is keeping an "outperform" call on Amtek "on the back of potential catalysts from further sets of positive results and dividend surprises."

Amtek Engineering Ltd (AMTEK SP / AMTK.SI, OUTPERFORM - Maintained, S$0.545, Target: S$1.00) 1QFY07 results  - Stamping in the right direction by Jonathan Ng Excluding US$0.7m of exceptional gains, Amtek's 1Q07 net profit of US$8.8m came in 7% above our estimate due largely to lower-than-expected minority interests. 1Q profit represents 34% of our previous full-year forecast. We have raised our FY07 forecast by 2% to factor in the better-than-expected 1Q numbers, but have kept our FY08-09 forecasts intact. We have raised our target price from S$0.805 to S$1.00 as we roll over our 10x target P/E from CY06 to CY07, which we believe is justifiable given its healthy 17% EPS growth and more than 5% yield. Maintain Outperform on the back of potential catalysts from further sets of positive results and dividend surprises.

According to analyst at CIMB-GK, Amtek's net gearing has improved. The price catalyst in the near future will come from strong demand of automotive parts and consumer electronics. In a separate report, Amtek indicated that it would set up a new plant in Eastern Europe to cater to the demand in the EU market. CIMB-GK has raised its earning forecast of Amtek by 16% and 20% for 2007 and 2008 respectively.    Should see some price appreciation in the counter. The volume is generally low for this counter.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Hi, lowpeckkiyau, since you have been holding on for the past 5 months, no harm holding till the full year results are out. Amtek is quite capable of springing surprises. Last year, the company announced bumper dividend cum rights issue together with the final results and the price shot up the next day.The stock is trending up lately albeit with low volume. So, signs are not negative. Hope this helps.
