Lian Beng: Joins Consortium To Acquire Midlink Plaza For S$126.8 Million.07 Oct 2011 09:45
Lian Beng Group plans to jointly redevelop Midlink Plaza after this property was acquired for S$126.8 million by a consortium of which Lian Beng holds a 19% interest through its newly formed associate company Millennium Land Pte Ltd. The consortium considers to redevelop this property to a 16-storey hotel with about 450 to 500 guest rooms, pending relevant approvals from the authorities. Midlink Plaza is a 9-storey strata-titled retail-cum-office development, with gross floor area of 128,076 sq ft and strategically located at the junction of Middle Road and Queen Street. Within a convenient distance of about 200 metres to Bugis MRT station, the property lies in the heart of URA's designated district for Cultural, Educational and Entertainment Hub in Bugis. Located within the Bugis-Bras Basah hub, this property is a stone's throw away from educational and cultural institutions such as The Singapore Management University, The Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, The Singapore Art Museum and The National Library Building...Attachments: |

Latest DMG & Partners Securities upgrade Lian Beng to Target Price of Strong Buy of 71 Cents, based on 7 x perspective PE ratio. Indeed Lian Beng is well positioned on back of strong order book of S$ 839 million and good track record of project wins. Now at very undervalued price of only 3.4 PE ratio. Note that BCA expects construction value to hit S$28 billion this year, and it is construction boom and good construction stock is indeed defensive play! Chairman Ong stated that Lian Beng will tender for more public project, part of 25,000 HDB flats this year and next year. Will check with him at AGM on 26 Sep 2011. Wa, U want me to slap my own face ah? Yesterday market drop like shit Lian Beng still green green at a much higher px, thats show many willing buyer and supporter. With CD on 4 oct $16/lots, and with a analysis upgrade and recommend at a 0.71TP, no wonder many feel the low PE and cheapness. And construction sector will last at least 2 years+ if no shit coming. But nothing is sure, U see maritime start of years so super strong and now become sai liao. To speak the truth in my own view, dont chase more than 0.365 at this rotten market, but can try loading at below 0.360 for more upside and allowance. *Anything can changes, nothing is for sure :)

Wa......Company is spinning off it's business to list in Taiwan.....Say unlock value for shareholders, actually is unlock value for himself only lo. Spinning off Lian Beng's original asset for seperate Listing in taiwan at the expense of minority shareholder lo.....Poor Lian Beng Shareholder lo-My opinion. It's selling it out and cash in the company instead of giving out the new listed entity to original shareholder's of Lian Beng.Shortchanged |

Quite expected - sure to have profit taking from those who bought @0.35. No stock i know of trends upwards beyond a few days to a week, before retreating a little (or a lot), before resuming uptrend - for uptrending, profitable and growth based counters, of course. Given the recent financial year results, very unlikely to downtrend over the next few months for Lian Beng, barring some major natural disaster or man made snafu.
