I suggest to accumulate slowly mid of this month because i think the next new will be 3rd or 4th week of this month. u oso must find a escape road incase the new said the approval is delay and this counter will plunge to 64 cents again. must sure u build enough buffer to cushion the plunge and if it uptrend, you will enjoy huge profit.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	I take special interest in takeover analysis of BIG as this will be the "father" of chiong.Do not under-estimate Abbott's chances as the takeover buyer of BIG. The story goes back to 2003. Guidant was the leader in BMS with their Multi-Link Vision (Cobalt Chromium). BIG signed agreement for Champion DES platform using: S-stent metal structure (stainless steel), Everolimus drug and PLA biodegredable polymer. Technically, Cobalt Chromium is better than Stainless Steel because it is a stronger material so the thickness of the metal strut can be made thinner and more manuveurable during stent delivery so more easy for the doctors to perform angioplasty. However, after Guidant acquired the knowledge of Champion platform, they played dirty and discontinued the DES program. Guidant claimed that the S-stent structure cracked during a clinical trial and said for safety reasons they have to discontinue the program. S-stent has been used by BIG and Terumo without problems but Guidant refused BIG's assistance to look into Guidant's complain on the S-stent. Guidant then use the Everolimus drug (produced by Novartis) on their best selling BMS Multi-Link Vision on a durable polymer. At that time late-thrombosis was not a big issue yet. I think the main reason for Guidant to do this is they want to escape paying costly royalties to BIG if they commercialise Champion DES. Remember BIG owns the patent for "any limus drug used on biodegredable polymer for DES". So by using a durable polymer, it doesn't infringe this patent so they can really dump BIG after learning the power of Everolimus drug and some DES knowledge. That was why BIG sued Guidant for US$26m for non-payment of technology transfer under Champion DES.  I heard Abbott approached BIG somewhere early this year on takeover possibilities. I think during that time, Abbott already realised using durable polymer has blood clot problems and it was late 2007 that late-thrombosis of Xience start to surface on media reports. In fact, Xience is also suffering from "drug coating splitting away from durable polymer coating". Xience uses non-adhesive FLORA durable polymer so that could be the reason from this splitting problem, a potentially deadly problem. Abbott is embarking on biodegredable polymer path via ABSORB clinical trial. They already have plans to sell fully Biodegredable DES without any metal strut so that there will be no more foreign objects in the artery after healing. ABSORB uses BIG's PLA biodegredable polymer and Everolimus drug. However, BIG owns that crucial DES patent of "limus drugs on biodegredable polymer". This is the main reason why Abbott gave in and compensated BIG US$15m in May 2007 to pacify BIG's legal case against Guidant (now part of Abbott). Abbott knew somehow in future they will be at the mercy of BIG for that crucial patent. BIG can squeeze Abbott's balls after ABSORB's regulatory approvals to sell by instituting worldwide injunction to stop ABSORB DES from selling for breach of BIG's patent. I told forumers before this key BIG's patent is actually worth hundreds of millions when fully utilised. BIG will be in a very good position to demand very favourable royalty of sales from ABSORB DES to release worldwide injunction of ABSORB DES. If Abbott buys over BIG, they will represent the future of DES as this industry clearly is heading towards that direction. MDT, JNJ and BSX is still stuck in durable polymer era. If rivals of Abbott like JNJ buy over BIG, Abbott's ABSORB DES program will run into serious trouble because JNJ will be a much harder nut to crack than BIG since BIG is small and use agreed royalty terms can solve the patent breach problem. The patent holder will not stop others from breaching your patent. Only after regulatory approvals to sell the new product then the patent holder. Why waste money to start suing in case the product may not be commercialised? This is to reduce potential wastage of legal costs and to maximise the damage of the patent breacher so as to extract out the maximimum gains for the patent holder: By squeezing our opponent's balls at their most crucial stage of product commercialisation. I think Abbott knows very well the technology capability of BIG and the power of Biolimus drug. They know that even though most experts feel that Xience is currently the best performing DES in short term, Xience is still below Biomatrix on short term restenosis rate and long term safety issue. Abbott also know Everolimus is second rated compared to Biolimus (since BIG discarded Everolimus technology to Guidant and now uses Biolimus) and BIG is the real top class DES company in the world. I feel there are only 2 main reasons are late-thrombosis: 1. Durable polymer can cause inflamation of the arteries due to sensitivity after prolong vessel contact. 2. The other main reason is some drug are still stuck in the durable polymer even after years and that is why the vessel wall is still raw and not healed. This phenomenon was observed by pathologist when they examined patients that died from late-thrombosis after they cut open the arteries for further examination. The drug use is actually to prevent overly aggressive healing and could resulted in scars and vessel renarrowing that may re-clog up the blood flow. So the purpose of the drugs is actually to slow down healing to a more acceptable level and timing, which is against the nature of how our body function. When the wound remains unhealed after so long, our body may trigger the "emergency healing" to the troubled unhealed area spot (where the drug is still stuck in durable polymer) and result in blood-clots. I think Abbott firmly believe in biodegredable polymer path. When the polymer fully biodegrades, there will be: 1. No more long term vessel inflamation problems of durable polymer 2. No more drugs still stuck in durable polymer that causes totally unhealed vessel wounds so there will be no "emergency healing" that results in blood clots. Biodegrable is the only way to go for DES and this industry will not reverse back to BMS days. DES cost about 4 times the price of BMS and its a very lucrative industry

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	If no takeover, BIG will be a component STI blue chip in 2012 with yearly net profits of over US$200m. If takeover, most likely could be mid-2008. Previously i said takeover could happen from end-2007 onwards but after considering a few factors, i think most likely could be mid-2008. Any takeover in mid-2008 most likely will come from JNJ. They can pay the billions in cash, strong branding and sales channels but JNJ don't have new DES to take on newer DESs. They were the number one but slipping to smallest player. BIG is exactly what they need:  a top class and clinically proven DES with proprietary IP and patents. Plus, BIG with CE and Asian markets means acquisition of BIG will immediately give JNJ capture back the DES market as BIG is already a ripe fruit and "firing in all cyclinders". However, the more licensee BIG license out, the lesser value BIG will command for takeover valuation because more DES players are using your technology and there is less exclusiveness for this top class technology. But don't worry, even if no takeover by mid-2008, there are so many good things coming up for  BIG. I can think of 3 main super turbo booster for BIG that all analysts are totally missing out in their reports. The first factor will make this stock chiong by 30cts (its about profits), second factor should make BIG chiong up 40cts (its abt unlocking hidden value) and the last and mother of all chiong will make this stock chiong by more than 50cts (a BIG deal). One by one it will slowly unfold in 2008. Im very confident BIG's share price will be much higher than 95cts on 23/06/2008 and  D.Bank will lose their pants off for their covered warrants. When all 3 factors are realised, this stock is easily a $2 stock and on the way to be included as STI index stock.

Everyday only can predict when it will drop and salivate over the aroma and rich creamy durian flesh. Crude oil has always been high and will continue to be high. We just got to get use to it and live with it. In fact, soft commodities like palm oil, corn, wheat, other agri products also going higher. Im a long term holder and believer that BIG will become a top DES global player. Crude oil high is inconsequential to my BIG investment. Share price may be volatile in short-term but this stock will be a multi-bagger in long term.

Focus on the true intrinsic value of the company. Focus on the moat (competitive advantage) and future earnings of the company. Boston Scientific's share price rose from $8 to $44 from 2001 to 2004. These were the worse years for equity markets but Boston was a multi-bagger during those years. Boston was the emerging global DES player full of potential back in 2001. I urge investors to focus on BIG's potential as global DES powerhouse rather than listen to doomsday soothsayer's "sky is falling" threats.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Eh, quite true leh. Even it you have bought after the lifting of trading halt at 85cts, you would still be sitting on nice gains of 10cts. How to margin call? Not all buyers stretch top their limit also. Eevn if they do, margin call will only happen if the stock drop by more than 10%. Also, not all buyers of BIG are short term contra players that go in and out more than 10 times in one month
