Let's aim for S$11.oo from today! Mermaid Maritime is a very small co. with mkt cap S$380m. Still Can give S$700m orders to built 4 rigs. That means orders r coming from everywhere - Really boom time for KEPCORP + SEMBMARINE too. Vested in both. |

3Q10 results beat expectations on strong O&M margins, property contributions, offsetting decline from infrastructure
Expect return of jack ups and semi-sub orders, on higher E&P spending next year Raise net earnings to account for higher expected order wins. TP raised to $11.30 3Q10 beat expectations, net earnings for 9 months accounted for 83% of our full year forecasts. Offshore and Marine’s sterling results – net profit up 15% yoy despite a 31% decline in sales were achieved on exceptional margins – EBIT maintained at 19%. The trend is set to continue for 4Q10, as it works off higher margin contracts from existing order books. This more than offset the 40% decline in net earnings contributions from Infrastructure, a result of cost overrun in environmental projects at Qatar and Doha. Property remained a key earnings growth driver, net profits rising 48% yoy with contributions from sales of residential units at Reflections at the Bay, Marina Bay Suites and China. . The tide has turned in favour of Singapore yards, with active enquiries from oil drillers for premium jack-ups and semi-submersibles, and higher E&P spending next year. Petrobras provides another catalyst for optimism, the contracts, if awarded, could potentially double its order book, currently at a low $4.1b. We have raised our assumed order wins from $2.5b to S$3b for 2010, vs S$2bn secured YTD. For 2011, we expect the group to win total new orders of S$11b (including S$6.5b from Petrobras). Keppel announced this morning that it has an LOI with Mermaid Maritime to build two jack-ups worth US$360m, includingh two more options, raising YTD order wins to S$2.5b once the contracts are confirmed. With the yard’s low book to bill ratio, we expect project deliveries to shorten for non-Petrobras orders to be won over the next 6 months. As a result, we have raised net earnings(pre-EI gains) forecasts for 2010 to 2012 by 5% to 7%. Our SOTP value is raised to $11.30 based on FY11 earnings |

Keppel corp ~ Jurong island power plant expansion plan [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: DMG raises Keppel Corp. (BN4.SG) target price to S$11.00 from S$10.32, keeps Buy call; raises FY10-FY12 EPS estimates by 6%-8% on higher margins assumptions for offshore, marine unit after 3Q results show unit's earnings +15% on year on higher operating margins of 19%, despite fall in revenue (down 31% on year). Says positive news flow on newbuild offshore orders could drive re-rating of stock, notes management "painted a brighter outlook for new offshore orders after the U.S. government lifted the deepwater drilling ban in the Gulf of Mexico," level of enquiries has improved and recent jackup wins by Sembcorp Marine (S51.SG) "are signs that rig owners are more bullish again on drilling demand." House also positive on Keppel's S$900 million Jurong island power plant expansion plan, announced late Thursday; likes their intention to build up recurring income from infrastructure business. Shares +0.1% at S$9.72.(matthew.allen@dowjones.com) |

LIQUIDs e.g. OIL obey the Law of Conservation
The total amount of LIQUID in a closed system is constant.
Since a lot of LIQUID is flowing GLOBALLY, the same volume of LIQUID needs to flow from somewhere
Question to ask is: WHERE???

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-10-14/-best-job-in-the-world-ads-campaign-may-escalate-french-ports-strike.html
...Contesting the ads, the main port union yesterday plastered the walls of the lobby’s office with 250 payslips showing workers make less. The moves show a hardening of stances in the 18-day strike that has paralyzed oil terminals at Fos and Lavera. The work stoppage has left more than 50 fuel tankers unable to unload cargo, cutting crude supplies to refineries and raising the specter of fuel shortages in France. ...

Strikes to shut half of refineries
http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/World/Story/STIStory_590190.html
PARIS - TOTAL oil group said on Wednesday that strikes by its workers were forcing it to shut down all six of its refineries in France - half the total number in the country. But a company spokesman said that 'there is no fuel supply problem because the depots are full.' He said the firm was starting to shut down its refineries because unions decided to renew a strike they called on Tuesday as part of a nationwide protest against pension reform that saw more than a million take to the streets. At least 11 of mainland France?s 12 refineries were affected by that strike, including the six run by Total.
