KIM ENG 25/8/2011 Research Stripping out exceptional items such as forex loss, fair value gain and tax on revaluation, Raffles Education’s (REC) 4QFY Jun11 results were largely in line with our expectation. On a full‐ year basis, core profit from its education business stood at about $21.8m (‐ 40.4% YoY). In any case, we believe the market has already discounted the uninspiring FY Jun11 results. A final dividend of 0.45 cents per share was proposed (total payout of 0.90 cents per share for the whole year), which translates to an annualised yield of 2.1%. Maintain BUY....... Action & Recommendation We maintain our BUY recommendation and SOTP‐ based target price of $0.80. Near‐ term re‐ rating catalysts include the successful monetisation of Oriental University City’s (OUC) landbank and faster‐ than‐ expected recovery in student numbers. |

Raff les Education S$0.435 | Neutral Credit Suisse upgrades Raffles Education to Neutral from Underperform given the stock’s recent underperformance and keeps S$0.45 target price. It says Raffles Education reported weak Q4 results, with revenue down 19 per cent on year, and excluding S$76.8 million in revaluation gains on its OUC investment property, “would have reported S$14.2 million net loss, marking the worst quarterly performance since listing”. House says Raffles Education’s earnings outlook in China remains challenging, but it sees further traction from new colleges across Asia and upside from larger-scale university projects in Malaysia, India and Australia. |

today up 1.5cts to 0.475....did not break support 0.455...still got hope for the time being? remember last round at 0.475 many people missed the boat... it slowly went up to 0.65...than stock market earthquake after S& P downgrade.... |

tdy opened at 0.61, closed up 0.005 to 0.63 day's high, with nearly 3.5mil shares traded...not too bad... still refuse to go down....steady man... |

Probably this is just a brief reaction to a peice of good news and awaiting announcement that the deal has completed before a brief rise and sell down. Fundamental is still the same. Debt is still high. However sale may boost the next financial report and provide higher dividend. Not really anything exciting. | ||||
