The index of activity in the manufacturing sector was above analyst expectations for a reading of 51.2 and remained comfortably above the 50-mark that divides expansion from contraction. HSBC releases the final reading of its China October PMI later in the day. The flash reading, released last week, stood at a seven-month high of 50.9.
