I think achieving the age of 85 is highly possible with the younger generations. From young they are trained in a healthy life stye and coupled with advance medical technology anything is possible. By 2020, it may be possible to grow new organs separately such as hearts or kidneys from some body tissues and change for the old ones - just like changing the spare part of used-cars. Yep, exercising the xxxx organs has proven to extend life span to immortality status. Start early and save your jing too. Jings are just like your CPF accounts and to be used slowly. The Chinese knows that when the jing account is empty, it means expiry of life too. |

To live till 85 or beyond meaningfully, you need to have the followings: Good health - can still walk, 'stand', sleep and enjoy good food Financial resources - other than CPF, you need to save and invest wisely from young age, time is $ Family and friends - withouy them to keep you company, life would be meaningless even with the above Only different here is which one rank higher up than the others at different stages of life. ![]() |

It's still your money. It's just have to stick to government's rules and regulations. Today's market seems quiet. Not much going on. Last couple days its really heart pumping. It's good to take a break. |

![]() HAHAHAHA...85....??? at 75...VIAGRA also cannot help liao...live until 85 for what ? I rather retire at the age of say 55 - 60...get my well deserved hard earned (saved and controlled) money and go do something which i do not have the time (due to fast pace life) or go some places which i can with my rightful money...i dun wanna regret achieving nothing when i breath my last gasp of air. I am not those filthy rich fellas who can do or buy things or go places they like when they are alive and young. ![]() |

If you live longer, you pay more GST and medical bills beside food and lodging. As inflation rate grow, $250 payout after you reach 85 and beyond may not be enough. Those days, you eat a bowl of mee cost you 10 cents and now at least $2.50 if not $3, the inflation rate factor is alarming. |

We've a v smart gov whom refuses to take responsibilities in these aspects. If you study closely their proposals so far, it is still you must take care of your own future or somebody have to sacrifice for the well being of the others...ie... the rich support the poor and so on..![]() |

![]() One more introduced scheme for you guys to crack and drain your brain cells. Why come up with HIP (Home Improvement Programme) and NRP (Neighbourhood Renewal Schem) instead of sticking to the Lift upgrading or Major upgrading where they campainge during the election ? And take a closer look, it looks good and reasonable that those flats included in these programmes are the ones above 20 years old...but why ? Maximum 30 years for installment payment by these flat owners when purchasing the flats 20 over years ago is coming up soon....so ? Put on your thinking cap ![]() |

If what skeleton said is true; that one can not go beyond 85, and the annuity will distributed to others. Then, this is TAX. I always believe medisave account is tax in disguise. OA and SA are funds we control but regulated by the government. Our government controls Temasek and GIC that are indirectly belongs to us. Why can't the government make those two funds as business trust and listed on SGX. Instead of making us buy annuity, let us have a piece on those money making machines. |

In the new scheme, the best gains are the long lifers, above age 85 until unlimited death age. Same like stock market, the long term investors always get the best returns over years. So lets invest in long life, such as regular exercises, proper diet, sleep earlier, no smoke, no drink, no stress meditation and yoga.... ![]() |

![]() DPS are for people who died below a age limit (or ceiling), after that age, the scheme is not applicable anymore, 55 if i am not wrong. What about eldershield, medisave, incomeshield and many many more other baskets to scoop up the overflows when these baskets are filled ? What minimum amount is paid out when you hit 65 and what is the monthly payout before you hit 85 to be able to touch that annuity pool money for assistance ? Miserable and patetite. I tell you, there are many between the age of 40s and 60s who have hard time making ends meet. How can income gap not widen when all you have to see Tomarket holds how many blue chips shares while SMEs are trying to survive. ![]() |
