Hi showhow, I am still holding and not buying today. My opinion is you should buy low and sell high. Do not chase after a rally. Do not fall in love with just one stock, there are other stocks in the market.

Thanks Eldarchen :) Simple english and appreciate the advice! Why must we sell the mother shares upon ex? Is my assumption right? Assuming l pay for the rights immediately, l am holding onto 2 mother share at $2.60 and get 1 rights share at $1.30. This means the average price is $2.17 for 3 lots [2.6*2 +1.3]. Assuming l sell the 2 mother share at $2.3 (at ex, before 12 March?) and use the proceed to pay at $1.3 and will have remainder $3.3 cash. I can buy another 2 lots at <$2.3 (assuming the price drops after 23 March when everyone can sell their right shares as mother shares). This means l need to pay an additional $1.3 per lot so that my averge price for 3 lots are <$2.17 [<2.3*2 +1.3] Correct?

Thanks for those who gave me a good post rating ^^ As for atomic 1. Yes 2. No, cause they would have already done it when the rumors was out. I have already stated previously that Capitaland has a very bad habit, if its a wrong rumor, they will always come out to clarifty, but if it's not, they will just be quiet. 3. Hard to say, do not expect, trade with the momemtum. So far bbs are still buying at 2.70+, you will be able to see a sell down coming if they do start to unload. What u should do if u intend to hold the shares for a long time would be to sell the mother shares upon ex and use the proceeds to subsribe for the rights. And when u recieve the rights converted shares, u will use the balance to buy more mother share.

Correct me if l am wrong. 1. If a company issue rights at $1.3 (cheap discount), there will be people who wants to buy the share before the 23 Feb so that they can get the shares at a cheaper price. 2. Unless there are many people or BBs who have no money to subscribe to the shares, they will try to sell whatever they have just before 23 Feb. 3. Given the recent selldown, capland should return to a more steady price before the 'rights issue 1:4 @ 2.2' comes up. These factors point to a surge until 23 Feb before a major selldown because there are people with 'cheaper' and more shares? I dun know anything lah. Hope someone can advice and correct my silly questions :) |

yes, i had entered this yr because i was told that now the price is low and for those that have cash, can buy some and keep... so when the price at more then $3, i already bought in more then 20 lots, i tried to hold but the price keep falling, i tried averaging (ie sell some at higher price and buy some at lower), finally to cut loss i sold all waiting for price to stop falling... great loss and quite lost until i found this forum... i want to say i really appreciate all those (and many have) that have posted helpful replies:) sincere THANKS! |

I also heard newbies got burnt badly last year. Now, they said they already gave up and regretted getting involved in the stock market. One needs to do homeworks and research not just listen and follow blindly. Contra play and no holding power also caused them to get burnt miserably.

Elder is very right... :) If at all possible, newbies must never ever touch the stock market if they don't want to become veteran $losers... (this applies whether it is a bull or bear market). |

Below is what is important to newbies, there's no punt directed at regulars and old birds. Do note that Capitaland is a classic example of how a fund or bb can catch u off guard regardless of how pro u think u might be. Just check the post for the past 5 days, almost 90% of the pp is calling for a sell and even pro's call it a tech sell and such, guess what? Share price rushed from 2.32 (low) to 2.78 (high) within a few days. There's no such thing as sure win, fellow forumers offer advice and its up to u to listen, believe or scutinze, u ultimately pull the trigger so don't blame others when u get on the wrong side of the trade. Grats to those vested but I myself have heard many got burnt on this counter, bought 2.70 and more at 2.36 and cut at 2.32 re-enter at 2.45 and sell at 2.70. I mean what's the point of buy in and out, if the price is good, just buy and when price is right , just sell. Don't get influenced by what other pp say and the enviroment. So many pp cut at 2.59 today only to see it go to 2.78. Of course it might go to 3.00 but do take profit if it's time, dont go and bother about that extra 2-3 cents, no point. It's investment not prop trading. Unless u r a prop trader if not, just trade slowly lor, esp the young newbies, so many died last year, I don't wanna see more this year. Just my 2p, take it with a pinch of salt. |
