MIDAS’ JV COMPANY NANJING SR PUZHEN RAIL TRANSPORT SECURES RMB1.56 BILLION CONTRACT

- To supply 32 inter-city train sets (192 train cars) for the Pearl River Delta
Inter-City Train Project (Dongguan – Shenzhen Section) and Dongguan –
Huizhou Inter-City Train Project

Singapore, December 28, 2009 – Mainboard-listed Midas Holdings Limited (“Midas”)
(麦达斯控股有限公司) is pleased to announce that the Guangdong Southeast Inter-
City Railway Transport Co., Ltd (广东省东南城际轨道交通有限公司) and Guangdong
Railway Construction Investment Group Limited (广东省铁路建设投资集团有限公司)
have awarded a RMB1.56 billion contract to its joint venture company, Nanjing SR
Puzhen Rail Transport Co., Ltd (“NPRT”) (南京南车浦镇城轨车辆有限公司), to supply
32 metro train sets (1 train set = 6 metro train cars), totalling 192 train cars for the
Pearl River Delta Inter-City Train Project (Dongguan – Shenzhen Section) and
Dongguan – Huizhou Inter-City Train Project.

Of the 192 train cars, 132 train cars will have a maximum speed of 140 km/hr while
the balance 60 train cars will have a maximum speed of 200 km/hr.

Delivery of the train cars is expected to commence in the second half of 2011, and is
expected to be completed by the end of 2013. As such, this contract will have a
positive impact on the financial results for the financial years ending from 2011 to
2013; and is not expected to have a material impact on the Group’s financial results
for the current financial year ending December 31, 2009.

Midas has a 32.5% equity stake in NPRT, a Sino-foreign joint venture, to engage in the development, manufacturing and sale of metro trains, bogies and their related parts.

Commented Mr Patrick Chew (周华光), CEO of Midas, “NPRT’s latest project win is testament to its capabilities and quality services. Given NPRT’s growing customer base and project portfolio, we are optimistic that NPRT, one of the only four rolling stock companies approved to undertake metro train projects on a nationwide basis, will continue to be a key beneficiary of the fast-growing railway market in China.”

My sense is this stock's short term price movement is hard to analyse & illogical to predict. It is a "highly played" counter by traders and BBs. Unless you plan to trade and cash on a right movement, investment logic does not matter here. For the longer term investor, you need to analyse and decide if this one is worth to park some funds. I have given one perspective - you may have your own.

Disclaimer : Vested. Small initial foray of 10 lots @ 89 cts. Wait, review and act on further news and analysis.

Don't read to much into the last minute sell at 90 cents.There must be sellers anyway before there could be any transaction. It could also mean these sellers are taking contra for a quick profit.

hehehe just share hor tot not vest in this counter......sometime at the last minute when the buying more than the q lot of 89.5cts.....i.e q to sell89.5 cts 20 lot the buy q last minute buy 50 lot at 90 tcs ....tot the transaction done 20 lot 89.5 and the rest done at 90cts...it will only reflect a lump sum lot of 50 lot done at 90cts as that is the last transac price ....hope that can clear your doubt .....hehehe

4 those pple r still holding Midas kindly look @ below carefully again. Y there wasn't 0.895 done time @ 17:05:01??? B4 dat, there was 20 lots bot fm Sell Q time @ 16:58:45. V obvious BBs were v generous 2 use 0.90 2 buy fm those pple were queuing 2 sell @ 0.895. Or they left pocket in & rite pocket out again? Or Midas has gd news cming?
