EastonBay: I am more curious to know how those analyst work out the Target Price. They will use a set of formula and input in some values into the variables to get the Target Price correct? Known EPS, earnings are from PAST financials. I am more interested to know the future so I can buy in mah correct? |

sohguanh, you are too modest. I have beeb learning quite a fair bit from you, and teeth55's postings has also been great for my orientation. you will most probably laugh at me if I tell you this.... I am a financial nalyst by training.... been in marketing for years then siao siao went to take 3 years of CFA.... now still in retail management....lost all the knowledge that I had acquired through the course. I agree with Easto about the subject element.... this is the first thing I learnt when I started getting my ands dirty.... because there is so much that I learn through reading financial and business chroncles, and the postings on chatsites such as this, that I didn;t learn from my books. |

sohguanh, you trade online? or through remiser? If you trade online, you can easily get PE, EPS etc etc from the online brokerage websites. Don't need to calculate yourself. Having said that, it's still good to find out the formula of PE, EPS etc etc. As for the earning forecast, there is always a subjective element as analysts made certain assumptions. Book wise, it is tedious yes. I always explore new topics with those 'Dummy guides' or "Idiots guides". They are easy readings. Not most professional but get to the gist of it quickly. Once done, move on to more 'chim' books. |

Actually I am a software engineer by profession. I only become active late last year and by knowing how to use computers, observing charts, deduce human behavoir, understand how stock trading model works etc etc and you will slowly get the picture. It is not rocket science. It just take more observation. However I have to admit I really lack the TA skillset about trending, how to calculate PE, earnings growth forecast etc etc which I think need to get a book and study and I find it too tedious. I prefer to observe trend and I let the analyst do those job as they are being paid to do that while I am just a retail investor with totally different skillset at work. I am paid by the software programs I wrote so let's just say each profession requires a specific skillset :) |

To add on, Monday start trading so based on T + 3 today is last day and most contra players need to pay up. So maybe tomolo we will see more lots being forced sold by brokerage firms for those customers who contra alot of lots and payup time no monies pay. So tomolo can see how the share price perform and if the BB is waiting by the side-lines, their cash are ready to snap them up fast. Once get over this hurdle, the share price should rise abit. BB knows all about short sellers and contra players and that is why they have some techniques to counter those tactics. Stock market is really a place where I was thinking Sun Tzi tactics can be used? :) |

Yeah, strong support at 1.50 because BBs also do not want to see it fall below that level as they married deal at that level. |

thank u guru sohguanh. u always bring clarity to things. i tot the price is ok with great potential ahead if they start the acquisition spree somewat like capitaretail china. however, cityspring has to be fair to all shareholders if they r calling for additional capital for the acquisition in view of the small cap size. what do u think? |

The depressing of share price technique. By keeping it low enuff, it may sorta scare and draw out those first day buyers ard 1.40 - 1.50 out so they can eat it up. I believe there are still strong interest among the institutional investors in this stock on it's long term potential. The thing is they don't want to feel to be over-paying for this stock so the price remains ard that range. Maybe until one day it just take for one institional investor to get fedup of waiting and give up this tactic and then the share price will soar again. Patience and hold it with cold hard cash is the key. No point contra or short it in short term IMHO. |

Now what I wonder is those ppl who land deals on first day at 1.40 - 1.50 are they selling out? I believe not as they prefer to keep? If these group of ppl also jump into the fray then we may get to see < 1.50 pricing tomolo morning? :) |

Hahhaha correct. There was a married deal at 1.50 on second day? So no matter wat that BB will not let the price slid to below 1.50 Anyway as I ride along I managed to land some 1.50,1.51 deals not bad since I very patient wait and wait from opening 1.61 drop to 1.50 then I start to queue. |
