http://www.globalwaterintel.com/news/2013/30/hankore-moves-indicate-return-portfolio-growth.html Published 25th July 2013 Shares in Singapore-listed developer HanKore Environment hit a 12-month high of S$0.056 yesterday after the company announced a S$300 million (US$237 million) medium-term note programme. The news followed on the heels of an announcement last week that the company expected to raise S$14.7 million (US$11.6 million) from a new share issue to Singaporean businessman Wang Yu Hui. Wang will hold just over 6% of the company?s equity after the transaction. These developments may signal a switch back to acquisition-led growth at the company. Last December, HanKore appointed Bank of America Merrill Lynch to advise on the possible sale of some of the company?s 17 water and wastewater treatment assets in mainland China, but it has not confirmed any further details, saying only that discussions are still ongoing. The recent capital-raising suggests that the company is more likely to build up its portfolio than to sell it off.

It isn't stated in the circular for shareholders, but one of the research houses published a report on it. Think it was Asia Credit Research, but I don't seem able to locate that piece now.. Seems like it has been removed.

Watch out for Q1 FY14 normally released 14 Nov. It is 'clean' without any reversal of write-off so it will be fully reflexive of operational performance. However and regretfully, Q2 FY14 will be another challenge as the full year reversal of RMB20m for FY13 was registered in Q2. Unless Hankore sees more than 100% improvement of operational profit, it may actually register a decline when it reports its Q2 FY14 result around 14 Feb 2014. | ||||

cccx123, you sure the MTN stipulated no dividend for the duration of the debt ? I thought it only stipulated that the notes will be immediately redeemable once David is no longer the largest shareholder. If no dividend for the duration of the notes which is multi-year, then we can forget about Hankore being a dividend yielding stock. There was a provision for the computation of the shares allotment to te shareholders of JT in their acquisition agreement should Hankore declares any dividend an thought it may seriously happen.

Hankore is moving up gradually and not as fast as many of us hoping. With each step up, it sets a new base by staying in the range for a while which is healthy for the long run for investors. For those who keep track, there may be pockets of trading opportunities in between as it fluctuates within a range before breaking up again. Most of the upgrading and revision in tariff rate happened this year and ongoing. We should see the full impact as as soon as the Q1 result is reveal within 3 mths. As the Q1 is end Sep, insiders or people in the inner circle should have good idea of how it will perform as it enters Sep. We may see some actions. Some of us may be disappointed with the full year result as we have expected it to be impressive but while it is indeed so based on normal operational condition, the improvement is distorted by the significantly much higher reversal of provision for write off in FY12 amounting to a difference of RMB52m. So, it may be unfortunate and we have to bear with those looking at the simple figures while awaiting analysts and funds managers to study in greater details and give their assessments. Perhaps the lot below from GuanYin Temple may help to set the expectation :)

Yes, waiting can be painfully slow. But HK is better fundamentally now compared to when I bought in April 2012. Also the corporate development of bringing in Alan Wang, and DBS's S$300M MTN has overcome to certain extent HK's need for financing for BOT/TOT expansion. So I will watch and wait.

Yes, not sparkling to my liking as I was expecting the moon so I drop to planet earth. So since I lost my bet on the 4Q results, have to sell a bit to pay for loss. The results confirmed that HK has turnaround. And there is still the S$50M from MTN and placement for RMB600-800M project/s. So I will wait. As for 4c, probably have to tan koo koo as Alan will be watching goal. Some speculated that Sino Grandness will tanked badly below $1 after the selling of China Minzhong, but Alan went in to support with 1.7million shares. This guy has deep pocket. Therefore as long as you buy lower or close to his purchase of 5c, let him tong the price.

I believe Hankore will be working closely with DBS in generating corporate investors, fund managers and analysts interest soon. Don't forget that they still have S$250m MTN bonds to be issued. | ||||

It is very difficult to generate genuine interest in a stock that has high volumes and rampant price fluctuations. The only interest that can be generated will be that of speculators. But the situation differs now. With the FY results at hand, high volumes will attract serious investors as well who usually search for credible reasons for price changes. I suppose our operator is waiting for the right time. Only problem is that the effect of a good report wears of after a period of time. Might just see 4.9 again..hmm | ||||
