The decision of BOJ to raise interest rate or stay put will be known by tomorrow. In what way the stock markets will react is not known as the value of the yen is important in carry trades. A too rapid collapse of the commodity markets could be chaotic and disastrous for those on the wrong side. 45% of the S&P index is commodity related so the stock market could be adversely affected. |

I am with the Bull, the region looks good, China, India, Vietnam, and the other neighbouring countries all looks good. Of course there are ups and downs in between, especially during reporting season in the next couple of weeks, so if you are a FA just ride thru it. I am looking forward to an ANGPOW rally, especially when you have a buget announcement around the CNY period. |

The odds on favourite horse(bull market) looks tired A rapidly falling oil price could indicate an economy that is weaker than anticipated. The weekly NYSE bullish percentage has turned downwards. The last bear(Richard Russell) has turned bullish. Japan could increase interest rate soon and make carry trades less profitable. Time to be cautious and have a tea break. |

A raging bull market is like an odds on favourite in a 2 horse race. Betting against the trend is suicidal when world markets are making all time highs. For the reserve currency the dow must not collapse- failure is not an option for Bernanke |

There may be problems in Thailand now but Mark Mobius, who is managing director of Templeton Asset Management thinks Thailand is still a good investment. The valuations of Thailand stocks are cheap. Dr Mobius is bullish on Singapore and other emerging markets like Thailand, China, South Korea, Russia, Spouth Africa, Brazil, Mexico and Turkey. Marc Faber, another leading investment manager, said that investors should expect a severe correction in all asset markets in the new few months. He said,"In a selling panic, you should buy, but in the buying mania that we have now, the wisest course of action is to liquidate." Marc Faber correctly predicted the US stock market crash in 1987. Mr Faber likes investments in Singapore and Vietnam. Vietnam happens to be the second fastest growing economy in Asia after China now. It's growth last year was above 8% and this year its growth is expected to be about 8.5%. Mr Faber thinks Vietnam equities have "incredible" potential in the long run. |
