Million w/o the s lah.:) but through blood, sweat and tears. But at the end of the day when the pain was all over, it is not too bad after all. Happy with self-actualisation, I think that's more important than just making money. |

One should not treat making money as the most important pursuit in life. In that sense, making money should be treated as secondary. We should try to be happy in whatever we do. Even if we lose sometime, we should be happy that we have learnt a lesson in life and move on to be a better person. |

Hi iPunter Just a penny for thought since u asked me. When we decide to pick up the pennies, of course we must be judicious and make sure that they are not duds! But if we want to take a risk with picking up duds to make some extra pennies, we must make sure that we are nimble or at least have the spare pennies to throw away so that others can pick them up. Life is such! We win some! We lose some! So long at the end of the game, the sum of our play or punt has more + than -, we should feel good that we have made enough for our kopi-O or lunch for the day whether at the neighbourhood sarabat stall or Ritz Carlton;) Our life is but a game. At the end of the game, actually it does not matter whether we win or lose; it does not matter whether we are the pawns or the kings or queens, we will end up in the same box. So lest make this process of pennies making a profitable and healthy one:) Sori...I don't think I need to educate u on this because u are a more seasoned forumer or punter here than me. As Grasshopper, I should call u, Master:) like in the famed kungfu series. Cheers! |

Hi newmoon... Thanks for this very enlightening and valuable post from you... In particular, the part on lagging indicators (most indciators are) is good..' since they are in effect "yesterday's news discovered today and acted on tomorrow". |

No one knows how high a liquidity driven market can go as evidenced by the LBO craze Home Depot for 100 billion LBO? Make sure you have stops as the volatility is increasing and lunacy is setting in. Yesterday was new moon day19/01/07 and hence bullish and also a very auspicious day in the Hindu calendar- 70 million pilgrims at the Ganges No need to reson why but go with the flow . A millipede was asked how he co-ordinated his feet .When he thought about it he got all tangled up.The analogy is like using too many indicators-macd, rsi, ta,bollinger bands,candle sticks,roc,elliot waves, vix, bullish percentage stochastics, etc. etc.These are all lagging indicators and do not tell the future. I use the phases of the moon. a parrot indicator, money mangaement,armstrong.s pi business cycle and stop loss in place before any trade. For long term investors the pi business cycle is about to end its 4.3 years uptrend( starting from 2002.85 to 2007.15.) The downtrend will last for 4.3 years so the next upcycle starts in 2011.45.Make sure you take a lot of anti oxidants to last the distance. |

Hi all, good news here. Asian stocks mkts will continue to grow strongly in 07 led by China, India and Vietnam, says analysts from HSBC. While a global economic slowdown is inevitable this year, they say regional markets could still realise compounded returns of 10 percent in the long term. They believe that Asian markets will remain attractive in the next 5 to 10 years - with industries like IT, materials and industrials forecast to rebound sometime by the middle of the year. But they also caution that valuations are too high in some markets like Singapore, making them relatively expensive to investors. Garry Evans, Pan-Asian Equity Strategist, HSBC, says: "Singapore is typically a fairly defensive market, and in an environment where cyclicals are doing well, Singapore probably doesn't do quite as well as that. Our target for the ST Index is 3,200 for the end of 07, which gives about 7% upside during the course of 2007. "The other worry I have about Singapore is that it's getting slightly expensive, you have now a forward PE ratio of 16 times versus an average since 2001 of 15. I think Singapore will do okay - you will get some positive returns, but frankly there are more interesting markets in the rest of Asia." - CNA/channelnewsasia. Just my tot (teeth53), ST index will look to China and India more often then Dow. :) |

Yap.. that is a true story, if oni yahh... i am still vested in digiland oso long time back together with GES story, now GES once reach $3/- plus plus, is sold out for $1.25c liao. Left with Digiland, is oso actually GES sister related relative but this sis is oso was sold away oso to another party. now 2c worth, future maybe worth more. Who know. grace d X'tal ball. |

you know i got a fren who bought BBR at 1c for 100 lots and he sold it for 9c. He bought it in 1998 i think. The funny thing he said is I sympathise with those who bought from me at such a high price. See what price it is now?? If only i followed him. I think he must be thinking, if only i bought 1000 lots... |

Hi giantlow, Why do you said that MACD indicates that STI is bearing in the short term. These are the data that I gather from the 9-day EMA MACD chart from SJ : 39.19 on 12/01, 40.53 on 15/01, 41.33 on 16/01, 41.44 on 17/01, 42.97 on 18/01 & 44.57 on 19/01. Just by looking at the graph, you will not notice that it is in fact increasing at an increasing rate (you need to drag the red vertical line across & look at the figures indicated on the top RHS of the chart box.). 14-day momentum price indicates uptrend in the short term, but it has yet to break the down trendline of the peaks of the momentum graph since mid-Dec. |

Basically blue chips stocks now are over-priced, penny stocks are only doing 2.4km now. This should be the start of a beautiful bull run until you see Digiland or Benefun is at 50c. Cheersz!! |

TA of the STI coming right up. singaporegal, do u agree with this? MACD is indicating that the current short term price trend is bearish. The momentum of the trend is however, weak. Moving Averages SHORT-Term Trend: Very bullish LONG-Term Trend: Very bullish Volume Analysis Volume strength is moderate. The On Balance Volume is increasing, indicating accumulation of shares in the market. |
