sohguanho... :) Yours is not a bad idea (ie. banning non-cash transactions)... But for it to be even considered, it may need to be done on a global level... So the market stays... :) |

Based on past few weeks observation, STI seem to be see-sawing but I hope the longer trend is see-saw upwards and not downwards. Afterall with the upcoming IR boosting Spore economy on all fronts I don't see why it is heavily sold down. The only reason I can think of is SGX has too many speculative investors investing on borrowed monies and when storm strikes all panic. Then coupled with the so familiar short and contra how can things get better? So I reiterate again ban contra and short tactics in SGX trading. Parliament set a new law hahahahaha :P |

Big ininvesters buy big and hold, small investers buy small small and hold, (trouble is like a canser - no cure once started) small investers don hold and act big big, so is big investers, losses big big and lost their bank, their companies and even sometime their life. :(( |

Singapore's stocks dropped the most in two weeks, as concern increased that a rise in U.S. mortgage delinquencies and slower retail sales will curb growth in the world's biggest economy. DBS Group Holdings Ltd., Singapore's largest lender, and CapitaLand Ltd., the nation's No. 1 developer, led declines. Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd., which makes chips that power Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 game console, and other exporters also retreated. ``Investors are uncertain how big the subprime mortgage problems in the U.S. will turn out to be,'' said Steven Lim, who helps manage about $300 million at Daiwa SB Investments in Singapore. ``Investors are also reacting to the weaker-than- expected retail sales, as the U.S. remains a top market for Asian exports.'' The Straits Times Index lost 105.69, or 3.4 percent, to 3053.21 at the close, its steepest decline since Feb. 28. Of the measure's 50 members, 47 fell. U.S. stocks tumbled yesterday, with the Dow average suffering only its second drop of more than 200 points since May. |

Deja vu.... we've been here before.... Tommorow might be a replay of what happened last week. Again, it depends very much on the Dow tonight. STI will follow the Dow if it crashes. If Dow tonight is moderate, STI should have a technical rebound tommorow. |
