volume is picking up with healthy 1.4 bilion, thou the index did not gain much much it is sign of something brewing thus at least we have a direction.. for me personally, my view is the BB is entering the market liao else quite impossible to have such big volume a day before the fomc, i think only these bb got the inside info to know any good news.. STI really 'stand still' today for FOMC to be out 2molo nite only. Even Europe bows down slightly to it below! Like looks another listless day tomorrow for STI? Let's see how US market performs tonite .... --------------- EUROPE MARKETS
The pan-European Dow Jones Stoxx 600 index declined 0.3% at 363.43, with downside limited by gains from banking groups ABN Amro and Barclays after they confirmed late Monday that they are in merger talks.
The U.K. FTSE 100 index dipped 0.2% at 6,175.30, the German DAX Xetra index lost 0.3% at 6,653.03 and the French CAC-40 index traded down by 0.3% at 5,444.79.
"I think that there is caution and hesitation in the market as the naturally long players await a clearer indication on market direction," said Manus Cranny at Cantor Index noting that the result of Wednesday's Federal Reserve interest rate meeting will be important for market direction.
Economists believe the Fed will almost certainly keep monetary policy on hold for the sixth consecutive meeting on Wednesday, maintaining its Federal funds rate target at 5.25%.

Good. Please do all you can to talk down the market. Another good opportunity for me to buy back. Just unloaded most of my shares this morning with a tidy profit. Hoping to buy back again tomorrow from those who listens and panic-sells. These are really good days! |
