Again, this is one stock I personally love very much.... But right at this moment prices seem a bit slippery... I am waiting beside the slide to hop on when it's a bit 'cheaper'. Sometimes, must bargain a bit with the beast. |

If the price soars, the cheering term "jia yiu" is even more relevant for this particular stock! :) |

hehe... perhaps I should clarify that my brand of TA is slightly different from Singaporegals'. My brand of TA is not as sophisticated. It is rather simplistic, even primitive in nature, if you will. My brand of TA requires only the use of price information. So this brand of TA can only be applied to stocks which are known to have consistently good volume activity. This enables me to concentrate only on the essential information, namely the price. :) |

Hi iPunter, True... I'm TA... but TA focuses on human sentiments in the market. It cannot possibly foretell natural disasters or terrorism that affect oil prices. If a stock relies solely on human sentiments, then TA would be good for it. So, TA does have its limitations. Hi nickyng, For SPC, I've given up trying to perform TA on it... hahaha.. :) |

Oops Singaporegal... remember you are TA, TA and TA..!!! I hope you won't be side-lined into distractions which deflect you from your chosen calling. Like I said before, TA is the supremo of market indicators. Or should be, since price action, which is the simplest form of TA, reflects the true state of the market. All the factors you mentioned are bordering on FA. The effects of unexpected events and their knowledge or otherwise will show on the price charts accordingly if they affect people sufficiently. TA has nothing whatsoever to do with human ideas like humility, arrogance or what not. TA just show the facts of the market. Like I said, though the market beast is capable of whacking us and also rewarding us, it is up to us to appreciate what it is really doing. And it is only with the help of TA that we can be helped. :) |

My humble opinion is that SPC is too dependent on oil which in turn is dependent on external factors like politics, terrorism, disasters... TA sometimes doesn't work well on SPC |

nicky, I always hold that SPC is a very good blue chip stock to 'own'. If the price falls, it's not because of the quality of the stock, but the market's present perception of it's worth. This perception changes from week to week. But you can bet it will rise from the ashes as a matter course. |

Agree with iPunter. The share market is often illogical, with a fair number of investors chasing after a share in a run-up when it has not reported any confirmed earnings growth. Conversely, a fair number will dump their shares in a marginal correction when it is the contra players who have to sell because they can't pay when payment is due. There are fundamentally sound shares with good earnings growths which have stagnated for many years or dip. Fortunately, when those shares dip, the closing volumes are low. Patience is needed when investing in "fundamentally sound" shares. |

hahaha... if the market has our kind of logic, then there will be no people losing money in the market. The stock market is an ununderstandable animal with a beastly mind of it's own, and it's always not satified with the status quo, constantly morphing back and forth between a bull and a bear... and it's so hard for us to predict when it will morph again. :) |
