hey, you're in too! i use ig markets. the only quibble i have is that because i watch three pairs (have upped the number. hehe), i have to set the indicators each time i log on. so sometimes i use another platform for charting. not a lot of tools needed, really. once you fiddle around and find a consistent system, it's just using that then. personally, i prefer forex since it's less 'noisy'---esp since our local market now has such low vols, you can either go intraday or longterm only. gone are the days of easy money and constant charts. do agree with techsys that the chart itself is the most impt. the correlation would be px-vol action in stocks. have fun.

Here is the basic use of Parabolic SAR on less volatile pairs. You can hardly make profit in addition, the risk will be higher. We can buy and immediately sell when market is in consolidation mode. But if market is trending , we can only put our position by following the trend. |

Here is the basic use of Parabolic SAR. First you need to identify market Trend. Next, you buy follow the trend. If Parabolic SAR tell you there is break after market move up, then you sell when you are starting to see first dot above the candle. Otherwise, you need to sell. Never buy/sell in the middle of the signal. I give you example with AUD/USD 5 Minute chart. Since we need strong chart but has high volatility, Parabolic SAR can be used better on less traded pairs. |

Thanks for your comment CashierTan. For your information, I have been trading Stock, Option, Future since 1999. I started Forex at 2007. Honestly, I know almost all indicators very well including econometric trading formula. I even know how to calculate them manually. Here is the next article about Parabolic SAR. Parabolic SAR was created to support Ranging base indicator (Reduce weaknesses). The point in Parabolic SAR is signaling the probability of price is getting reversing. The problem is this indicator is too easy telling us false signal, so this indicator need to be use only for support. One problem with Parabolic SAR is, it can be played only at high volatility market with strong support and resistance indication. I translate this into forex terminology, by chart more than 15 minutes. You can play it at 5 minutes chart, but you need to have special setup. To earn bigger return, you need to use higher time frame. There are 4 ways to use Parabolic SAR in FOREX:
If you want to have a good user of Parabolic SAR, you need to know Stochastic MindSet. I share with you on next article. |

well techsys, u showed that u are a real forex trader with what u post. unless one pretender in this thread. from ur post i know u trade fairly regularly in forex. yeah i would recommend MIG, 2 -3 pips for forex majors but never fxcm. About parabolic sars, u got right abt half on how to use it for trading. keep finding and i am sure u willl find the other half or even more. |

I agree with techsys about delving into the thinking, rationale and even ingenuity of the numerous creators of indicators. It can be as academic a field as one want to be. I am sure techsys himself can also come up with another indicator/formula. This I do not doubt.... |

Hi SingporeGal, If you have 5k USD, you cant to try MIG. They give 2 pips spread for standard account. FXCM is good also, with their floating spread. If you have no mind to deposit 50k USD, you can use SWISS FX Market Place. It's an ECN, which give you as low as 0 pip spread. But there is comission arround 15 to 30 / million volume you trade with (Volume base). Lately, I receive a lot of questions about Parabolic SAR and how to use it. Here is the explanation: Parabolic SAR is an indicator that tells us about minor trend on the chart. So we trade only in the beginning of the trend. If we are in the middle of the trend, we are not supposed to trade. I will scratch some pictures to show you how to play with Parabolic SAR. Remember that I'm not suggesting you to play with indicators. I'm no indicators player. I'm pure chartis analyzer. But I like to see indicators, because it gives inspiration about how the creator think about the market. |

promote your ass. in the end still link to ur commission account. u think i dumb isist? Tabby, now withe 200 pips+ of profit in float. if not for the turn down last 4 hrs back could be around 300 pips for this week. volatile week but still manage to catch the recent rally. how is your side doing? Singgal, u can try small small amount for a small start than move to bigger accounts with ig or saxo. |
