The number 1 rule in investment or trading is always the protection of your capital or managing your risk level. There is nothing wrong doing dollar cost averaging. But some do it right and some do it on the wrong stock and at the wrong time. In the end when you find yourself at a huge paper loss with a net overall loss, where is your capital protection? Huge paper loss is not capital preservation. By managing risk level, this is what I mean. If you have a $5k profit, it might NOT be a good idea to buy 100 lots of another share. Your profit can be easily wiped out. Grow your profit gradually and slowly you can increase your risk level bit by bit higher i.e if you have $10 profit, maybe you can afford to lose $3k, and if you have a $20k profit , maybe you can afford to lose $5k. The risk level is up to individual. But sometimes when you buy too many shares it is not easy to keep track of your risk level. The other important rule is learning to let your profit ride if it goes up. |

All should read carefully what traders88 has written and his investment mindset is right. However I still do FA on top of TA. One need not worry what swmming style traders88 is using because he is swimming the right way

investor, Thank you for your vote of confidence. Ya, it is all about individual style when it come to trading. Every individual has his/her own right to prefer which trading style that suits his/her character. At the end of the day, all of us will have one aim, that is to make some money from the stock market.

Wow... another BIG day for BIG.................... Alot of single big transaction on one single tick of the stock price seen today near closing!!!! Was stunted to see that.... The show is going to start very moment from this evening , however it may be deter by the "siao" Dow Jones Index... Now at -134 man!!!!! I do bet on the spike this time is for longer term than the last few which lasted on 4 days at most... it's about 30% from bottom price... will keep holding till it reach $2................. Must have faith for that to happen....\ Will u guys hold till that long???? I bet alot of them bought today at 0.615 - 0.65 will.... Dun believe in contra for this stock as i got high profit and high losses before..... No more contra for me on BIG.... hold for better profits.... cheers

I think that Both JJ and Trader88 are right in their own way. JJ uses the fundamental approach, whereas Trader88 uses pure technical techniques. I must say that Trader88 technicals is not bad, while JJ has the right knack when it comes to timing entry points. |

I do not care about what others say. I am a trader with a set of trading rules to follow and I only look at technicals of stocks When stock moves up (especially with big volume), I will swim along the current and go long. When stock goes down (with volume again), I will swim along the current again and go short. I shorted BIG on its way down. I closed my short positions when its downward momentum stabilised (sideway for 15 days with small volume). Then it rebounded with a surge in volume, I took aggressive long positions to swim along the current. I said the upside is very very very short term because the reversal to up trend is still not very confirmed yet. I am ready to exit any time, whether profit or loss if the trades do not turn out good as expected. I will not be surprised if the 46 cents immediate support broken. Of course I hope the up trend will be confirmed and maintained and I will just ride along and let the profit run. |

Did you guys buckle up and tightened your seat belt? Hope no one here fell off the fierce rocket ride. Instead of thinking about syndicate operators, could be a genuine institutional buyers decide to buy into BIG in a big way since BIG is so grossly undervalued. Could also be JNJ, MDT or some other DES major player coming in to buy up the best stent developer in the world to beat off the current market leader Xience. The Biosensors Getai show have not officially started yet. |

Never go against the current. When a counter is moving up, many sell too early because they think the price is too high already. When a counter is going down, instead of selling, many continue to buy because they think the price is getting cheaper. |
