Still heading south... Agree with OngHuiH... I buy stocks just purely by looking at charts. I don't even read the finance section in the newspapers or find out what the company is doing sometimes. |

When one opportunity is missed, another will come along - Provided one is alert and act on it. Personally, relying on tips is not a good strategy. Charting is the MOST reliable. Chart don't lie really. Master charting skills ..... the probability of getting is rite is 7 out of 10. My trainer buy stock juz looking at charts - he confessed - sometimes he don't even know what the hack the Company biz is! He makes good money. Plus remember those few key points - buy on uptrend sell downtrend etc ..... Opportunity is presence almost every other day! |

No I did not. In fact, I am eyeing F&N to go down and SPC as well. I actually got a tip last week to buy into Starhub but didn't act on it so it's another missed opportunity. Sigh... this is an example of analysis paralysis. What counters are you looking at now? Do you think it is too high to go in? I asked my broker and he says too high already... |

talk to you broker. Officially T+3. In practice is T + 5. If you don't ask, you don't get. Same too for brokerage. For brokerage, there is a certain quota before they lowered. Did u take position earlier AllocoReit, ManWah which I pointed ? .... SMRT is on the way to 1.12, 1.13 ..... |

Hi OngHuiH, Yes, I am still holding on to SMRT which I bought during IPO. Just to clarify, contra trading is T+5 when I thought it is T+3. If it is T+5 and I do the trade on Friday, does that mean I only need to pay by the following Friday? By the way, which online service do you use? Sigh, this CAO really having diarrhoea! Called my broker and he asked me to hold... |

Colorado hi, have gone thru rough ride with SMRT. In May/Jun hold 60 lots @1.10. Fell to 1.04. Me hold tight. And has recovered. SMRT is a high dividend stock. Enter with Plan A and B. Contra timing is T+5. Most of the time able to contra. Plan B sets in - take delivery when u can't. On brokerage, i trade on online. and have negotiated for lower brokerage .... below 0.26% ...... compare to 0.28/0.275%. If I an hardworking, another brokerage offer even lower. |

Wow, you are amazing. When you mentioned about the contra for SMRT, you mean you actually went in with the intention of doing contra? If it doesn't work out, won't you have to cough out $70+k? To be able to do that, won't you have to have holding power? Do you trade online or through a broker? If you go through a broker, won't you have to pay the charges which works out to be about 6cents? Pls correct me if I am wrong about this. I've really learnt so much from you all and the knowledge is priceless. Thanks for your willingness to share. |

DJ is Dow Jones bundle with Nextview. STI is due for correction too. Notice Monday drop 40+ points. Off course today is up. Do not be caught like May Jun. Conventional wisdom: The upside now is less than downside. I have redeemed my entire Sing UT too. Waiting for correction to come. So trade with care. If possible, buy only after correction. In fact, on Monday, there is an window of opportunity when STI drop 40+ points. Me pick up 20+ lots of Allcro Reit at 0.953 and 70+ lots SMRT @ 1.106. Contra off part of SMRT at 1.12 this morning. Don't underestimate the 1.5 cents gain. If I contra entire 70+ lots, gross gain is 1000+ over one nite. ..... Be alert to opportunity. Oh yea, look at Man Wah - is attractive at this price. Me enter today too at 0.435. Recently sold off @ 50+ cents. TA is downtrend though. FA - good potential. |

Colorado hi, about Nikkei & STI. Japanese economy is very much export oriented. More so than Singapore i think. Singapore economy is robust stilll. If US slows down, export will be down..... Therefore leads Nikkei downwards. Incidentally, week before last, I redeemed all my Japanese Unit Trusts. Because down turn is expected. So is STI. Am not wiser. Know this becasuse I subscribe to DJ. DJ gives good analysis. |
